What’s the plot of this fella? Italy always catches my eye but this hasn’t shown up on my Netflix pages.

It just took me 10 minutes to find the Woodstock documentary on HBO Max because their UI is so fucking slow and their search fucking sucks (seriously, searching “Woodstock” doesn’t bring it up) and when I finally found it and hit play, the app froze and crashed

truly an astoundingly bad and dogshit service

This wasn't rhetorical... I'm having trouble finding anything where she explicitly says there were fewer nude scenes in later seasons because she stopped wanting to do them; articles seem to kind of just infer that from her interview on Dax Shepard's podcast.

Also didn't Lena have her head CGI'd onto a body double? And some people actually got mad at her for that? (okay, this I found articles for. Of all the things to receive backlash for, ffs)

It goes back and forth between a group of kids in the 90s and their adult versions, and two of them are star crossed lovers I guess you could say

  7. I might be alone here, but I actually like the design of the HBO Max app. But ya the responsiveness is super slow and stability is abysmal if you do too much more than just pressing play.

Apparently the Woodstock doc is actually part of a series called Music Box? It came up as the fourth option when searching 'woodstock' and appears as Music Box S1E1: Woodstock 99: Peace, Love and Rage. Are there more music docs coming out?

If anyone here watches Dave, do you think an IRL album drops with the finale? I saw some people say he'd release it as "Dave" because to him Lil Dicky is a character he plays and not how he identifies himself. Just like how "Brain" released an album.

    8/10.

I can't think of a better actor than for this type of thing to exist for than Val Kilmer. The "Hollywood actor" that was always over shadowed by the super Hollywood actor, never got the 'thespian roles, and was just "eh val kilmers in this? Eh". Like if this was Tom Cruise it wouldn't be as interesting. Or someone who actually got all the thespian roles like Daniel day Lewis. It works perfectly for Val kilmer.

Im also such a sucker for these type of things. Fleeting youth is so depressing. Seeing a once sexy, full of life, world jn his hands and an anything goes future....now just an old dying man like we all will be someday.

My only complaint is that the tone was a little one note and I don't think we got a full glimpse into who val kilmer really really was. Maybe not honest enough.

But still all around very lovely. Old man val doing autographs for a movie hes embarrassed about doing was sad.

Re: GOT, the overtly excessive nudity of the first two seasons really weigh those down. There’s so much shit that’s practically softcore porn and it’s absurdly off-putting.

While I don’t know of anyone who thought it wasn’t excessive at the time, I think a lot of people generally looked past it bc the story as a whole was “supposed” to be part “fantasy but more realistic in its crudeness,” but looking back on it now, all those sexual scenes that were never in the books just feels more like D&D knowing they could pay people to degrade themselves on camera. Like it’s not so much the fact of people being nude, but that the way the nudity is presented is as if they simply want you to gawk at it

I remember during the first season, before it was even TRULY a hit, my friend said an episode contained a man r**ing a woman while naming a bunch of different dragons. She was baffled by it, I assumed it was another trashy HBO show…and then it got huge.

I never watched it so I have no opinion but every time it’s brought up I think of her astonishment

I watched maybe two episodes and found a lot of things about it off-putting too. Their particular brand nudity was part of it, and I even grew up with European television, so it’s not that I’m not used to casual nudity on TV.

I also know my girlfriend would hate it and there’s not way I’d get through a show like that by myself.

I love the books so I’m just gonna stick with those.

Watching a movie on Hulu and it has the TNT logo in the lower right hand corner, never noticed that before. Weird. Not sure why it’s there, it’s not a movie made by TNT. There’s so many ads-ons and misc. feeds that Hulu has I constantly worry if I added on a channel for extra or something lol
