I regularly quote “mmmmhm I heard that. I wish I didn’t hear that, but I heard that.”

Movie is still so funny to me. I fell asleep a little before the end but still holds up.

No..... they already tried that idea too! I can't imagine a reboot getting a huge audience, but also people are dumb so who knows

They already tried that before and nobody wanted to touch it. I hope our nostalgia hasn’t come back around to us thinking HIMYM was a good show.

Reading the article, it is interesting that it's a whole new creative team that will be working on the show, that Bays is just producing. So essentially it's one of those reboots in name only at this point.

Funny I just finished a HIMYM rewatch a couple of days ago. Loved that show, love Duff, I'm in for this.

  9. HBO Max put up the first seven minutes of the new Mortal Kombat, it was pretty good. I'd just watched Scorpion's Revenge a couple days ago. The openings are the same but different, which I guess is to be expected since they're adapting the same source material. I've only played MK9 and 10; 9 is just a retelling of 1-3 iirc.

At least they’re not calling it “How I Met Your Dad” like the GG one

  11. The show had its moments, but the idea of a character whose whole schtick is sleeping with many, many women hasn't aged well.

I never watched HIMYM. Not interested....

We started watching 30 rock though. Very funny

  14. She really wouldn't have done Lady Bird and Little Women if that had gone through, huh? And I thought this was the darkest timeline.

After the HIMYM finale, I remember laying all my dvds on the bed, taking a picture of me flipping them off, and tweeting it at the showrunners

Okay I didn’t send it to the show runners but I found it hahaha

  18. It's actually kind of amazing how badly the ending retroactively ruined the entire series.

The finale is fresh in my mind as I just watched it on Sunday. Honestly loved the first 99% of it. It was great to see Ted, being such an over the top romantic wanting nothing more than be married, end up being so in love with the mother that they didnt even rush to get married. And when they did it was just a spontaneous decision on a weekday with just their close friends in attendance. And when we finally get to see their first interaction together, the chemistry in that scene was so great. Their banter just bounced off each other perfectly. The writers dropped breadcrumbs throughout the series that she was deceased, so that wasn't a surprise at all.

But then that goddamn final 60 seconds. Like I dont even think the Robin twist is offensive on paper. But god the execution was so awful. They couldnt spend like another minute or two fleshing that revelation out? Urghh like it would've taken a second for Ted to reveal to his kids that he kinda exaggerated his past relationship with Robin in the story subconsciously as a way to justify dating again after their mothers death. The writing, the acting, urgh that whole finale scene was such a mess!

    End of rant.

I loved that show but haven’t been back to it since the finale. If I ever did watch it again I’d just pretend the finale ended halfway through
