Finished I May Destroy You last night. I’ve plugged it a few times now but it’s the best show of the year and many of you will love it. It takes on some high stakes, heavy themes, and surreal territory while remaining highly-watchable and accessible- never losing that comedic edge nor sacrificing its honesty. The performances and writing are hella powerful. The soundtrack is filled with Tierra Whack, Vince Staples, and Janelle Monae songs. It’s just fucking incredible and wish someone was here to talk about it with me!!!

  11. So uh, I started She-Ra almost immediately after finishing Harley Quinn. Honestly, this wasn't even on my radar when it first came out, but once i started seeing a lot of wlw content on tiktok it kept getting mentioned. I know it doesn't happen until the end of season 5, but I wanted to give it a shot, and two episodes in it already has some Steven Universe vibes going for it. I didn't know I was trans--and therefore gay--when Korrasami and Bubbline happened, so, idk, i just, I wanna watch more gay shit now with the awareness that I'm gay.

It is intense (and very nuanced, if not themed around “nuance” itself) but it’s also accessible and easily likable and I think that’s super rare.

Feels redundant when there's already an awful looking show for a Walking Dead spinoff with kids lol

  20. First season is great! Lots of similarities with Steven Universe, but also with The Legend of Korra. First Ones ruins like remnants of the Gem War and Homeworld's presence on Earth. A line of She-Ras like the line of Avatars. Plus, you know, all the queer undertones. With the shorter seasons and faster pace, it's a little less of the gradual world building of Steven Universe and Adventure Time and a little more plot driven like ATLA/TLOK. It's definitely paced about as quickly as TLOK, but I don't think it suffers from it, at least not yet. I'm pretty certain I'm going to love this show very much.

  21. Honestly "Hoops" wasn't all that awful. Writing is pretty uninspired but Jake Johnson and a couple well placed dick jokes kept my attention.

Just started Class Action Park, and Chris Gethard's voice is the first thing I hear. Already love this.

Edit: and then John Hodgman is the main narrator.

I don't know why but I thought Class Action Park was a docuseries and now I'm a little let down lol but definitely going to watch it tonight
