My brother won’t shut up about Hunter x Hunter and I’m out of the anime world, so I’m starting it on Netflix. Six episodes in and it’s pretty entertaining so far.

 

I love Hunter x Hunter. The Chimera Ant arc makes for one of the best anime seasons ever

 

My girlfriend adores it and while I haven’t been as invested in anime in the last few years she finally got me to watch a lot of it with her and it’s solid. I’m about to get into the Greed Island arc but she said the next one is brilliant

 

It's probably my favourite anime ever. Truly brilliant.

 

Anime is something I've never been able to get into

 

I liked a lot of the basic classics growing up, especially Cowboy Bebop. Lately I responded to Makoto Shinkai’s stuff, I liked Your Name and Weathering With You.

I always recommend Neon Genesis Evangelion for people who can’t get into anime. It’s like if David Lynch made Gundam.

 

Or try something like Princess Mononoke or Spirited Away. Or Perfect Blue. If you don't like those idk what to say.

 

I adore anime movies. The shows always seem much campier and they’re huge commitments. A lot of anime shows are just too damn long with entire seasons’ worth of filler. That said, Spirited Away may just be my favorite movie of all time.

 

Yeah anime shows are a sea of garbage and filler lol. I wish there would be more original shows and movies made instead of just manga/light novel adaptations but I can still find some great shows every now and then.

 

I've enjoyed several of the Studio Ghibli films if that counts

 

I always preferred the DBZ movies to the show lol

 

Man no one was asking for recommendations on how to get into anime lmao

Just got Criterion Channel, bummed I can't find an app on my TV

Someone I know has been posting a lot about Agnes Varde on social media lately, and I've wanted to check out some of her films and what do you know -- one of the first things I see on the site is a collection! Will definitely be checking some out soon, probably start with Cleo from 5 to 7

 

I think Le Bonheur was my first Varda. Criterion has a bunch of her shorter form stuff I’d love to get into.

 

Le Bonheur is my favourite that I've seen of hers. Really love that film.

 

I just started this for the first time the other day.

but then I got sucked into a Netflix restaurant renovation show.

 

My dad has a Samsung and had the same problem. He had to plug his Roku stick back in and go through that to access it.

 

Yeah I took a roku off my grandma just for Criterion. I use my Xbox or PS4 for everything

 

Looks like we’re getting one more episode
