    @EASheartsVinyl daily Broadchurch update incoming

    Got through another 6+ episodes. Middle of S2 was pretty meh tbh, kinda too many red herrings but not very good ones imo. Last few minutes of Episode 7 and first few of Episode 8 were awesome though.

    What is your favorite season?

    1 and 3 are pretty equal in my eyes. I love them both for different reasons, although there is some overlap as well. I don’t want to say too much until you finish, but I’m dying to mention a few things.

    2 is the lowest by far. Too much focus on side characters, the portrayal of the legal system was laughably terrible and made me want to scream, that kind of thing. But I love the development for Miller and Hardy and what their characters do, and agree that the last episode redeems a lot of it. Even at its lowest I still like it more than most shows.

    S2 episodes 2-7 just feel like a single long trial episode with not a ton of interesting developments unless something major happens later in Episode 8 I'm just ready to move on to S3

    In case anyone was wondering how the FX A Christmas Carol turned out, it literally opens with a kid pissing on Marley’s grave and then it dripping onto his living corpse who makes a joke about people not reading the sign that says “Rest in Peace”.

    It’s one of the most misguided adaptations I have ever seen in my entire life. And it’s THREE HOURS. Like there are literally versions of the complete audiobook that aren’t as long as this mess. It’s every over the top parody of “dark and edgy” reimaginings brought to life without a trace of self awareness or intended humor.

    Loved S1 alot, S2 was meh, S3 was better than 2 but still quite good.

    Loved Tennant and Colman together! The atmosphere and set pieces of that show are some of the best I've ever seen too.

    Also I can't help but get David Tennant's Scottish accent out of my head

    I love when he gets to use his real accent in stuff. Being forced to use an American one strangled so much of his delivery in Gracepoint, and since the writing wasn’t as good anyway that did not help at all.

    I think my favorite part of S3 is just how sensitively they handled the subject matter. Having Miller and Hardy both shut down anyone who tried to question her statements or her character was such a refreshing take on fictional police, and the fact that they didn’t force anyone else to come forward when they didn’t feel safe doing so was the perfect way to hammer that point home.

    I loved the character work and little moments as well, but that aspect is what pushes it close to S1 territory for me.

    I definitely felt like the delicacy with which they treated the situation was fantastic. I could also watch those 2 banter with each other all day. Need to make a new show with both of them ASAP

    I’ve been wondering about that show, looks great. How does Apple work? Is it a subscription streaming service like everything else? Cost?
