I despise film and tv award shows, but I guess if they are going to be updated outside their threads it’s fair game to say they’re dumb and who cares

Are we really complaining about posts about award show wins? It’s a post. Just scroll over it lol

Streaming even closer to becoming cable by merging with it.

This conversation about streaming becoming cable makes me think of all those customers when I worked in cable repair who thought cable should be "a la carte" and I'd always think "You don't want that. You think you want that, but you don't." And now here we are, in the not too distant future.

I watched The Remarkable Life of Ibelin and i think I cried more watching this than anything I have seen in a long time. This destroyed me. Especially at the end when his online girlfriend he never met irl when he was alive helped carry his casket at his funeral

I have been saying this for for over a decade. Once Netflix got wildly popular in the early 2010s, I knew it was only a matter of time before different networks/companies started doing their own thing and I knew it would eventually become almost just as expensive if you really want everything mixed and matched because there would be so many competing services.

I am beyond late to the game and just cancelled my cable two months ago. That said, my wife and I were still paying for Netflix, Prime, Hulu, Apple, Max, Paramount, Peacock, etc all this time. Between cable, internet and all the streaming services, we were paying close to $400 per month (cable and internet alone were $280)

The only reason I kept cable all this time was for local sports (as most streaming services do not offer regional sports networks - outside of Fobu and DirectTV Stream). I finally switched to DirectTV Stream and at the end of the day, I'm maybe shaving off $30-$40 per bill - which is nice, but even DirectTV Stream now is more than $100 per month. YouTube TV just increased to $85 (and don't have regional sports).

    It's nuts.

Interesting that the original team is involved. I wonder about these things if the benefit of hindsight encourages them to make "what the original should have been" or just go completely off the rails to distance from the original.

I have two episodes left of this and it's held my interest barely enough. I've been back-and-forth between "this is fine" and "this could be good" the entire time without it ever crossing that line which Dead To Me most certainly did. I'll still finish it though, hope it lands for me.

I've watched a lot of pretty terrible shows with my wife (she likes background noise "nice" shows)...and it always starts of with me scoffing but eventually semi enjoying it....

But Virgin River is sooooooooooooooooo boring. The characters aren't interesting. The setting is okay? But just like nothing is happening. The stakes are low and I think the fact everyone is extremely wealthy makes it not even 1% relatable and this isn't even like a fantasy life I want. Too boring.

I watched all the doctor dramas, young Sheldon, heartland was way way better, reba, but I want to jump into the fucking river watching this

Reba wasn’t a single mom who worked two jobs just for you to lump her in with Young Sheldon

Hey like said 80% of the time the "bad shows" she puts on, I find a redeeming quality and get relatively into it.

Reba was just funny enough to pass the test. I think the Van and ShaYAN combo made it good.

Finished this and actually enjoyed the last two episodes more than expected. Ray Romano does a pretty good job. Overall I don’t think it was great, but def not a bad show
