Paramount+ scrubbed a bunch of Nickelodeon titles. Mostly minor ones, but the biggest one they removed was Doug.

Looking at midseason ratings. It looks like ABC's High Potential with Kaitlin Olson is the big winner for new series in both broadcast and in streaming for 2024. It's actually doing better numbers than Abbott in just it's first season. Currently has the best cross platform 18-49 rating of any traditional broadcast series.

started No Good Deed. it does that thing that lots of shows do nowadays where the dialogue is extremely expositional, as if these characters hadn’t had real relationships with one another until the first episode of the show

but I liked that moment with Lisa Kudrow staring up at the light flickering and believing it’s her dead son

both Lisa and Ray seem like comedic actors who came from sitcoms and still exude a subtle melancholy. I like the casting. gonna stick with it

I’m not sure what everyone’s opinions of Schitts are/were but I’m feeling like season 2 and 5 are weak points. 1, 3, and 4 are great. One more season to go.

Ok I’m on episode 4 of Bad Monkey and I’m finally reeled in. Those first two episodes were slow though.

Laid is fun enough so far. Easy watch some decent laughs. Stephanie Hsu can do anything and Zosia always hits. The John Early bit got me really good. Evidently it’s a remake of a 2011 Australian show of the same name. Made me chuckle learning that the original mains are Roo and EJ, and in this one they’re called Ruby and AJ. But then Zach is still just Zach lol

Anyone know if any other smart TV devices can be Plex servers other than the Nvidia Shield TV?

Love my 2019 Shield TV Pro, but.. it's getting old and sluggish after a few days until I manually reboot it. Don't really want to perpetually run my laptop as a server and don't want to invest in something dedicated only to Plex.

I've heard good things about Walmarts ONN android TV devices. Not sure if I can root and debloat that to accomplish my needs for cheap

I guess at the worst, my shield can continue to just be a Plex box disconnected from an actual TV. I was getting some random drops from it since getting rid of Xfinity, but I just reserved a static IP and port forwarding on my router and I watched like 10 hours of TV last night with no problems

I just put stuff in my Plex folder on my computer, hit refresh, then watch on the TV. So I probably am not much help for you

I don't like that in Landman 80% of Jon Hamm's interactions with the rest of the cast in over the phone. He has had only two in person scenes with BBT. What is the point of having him here if he can't play off the other castmember's? Get him to Midland already.

Also I almost forget Demi Moore is in this show too because she has been given almost nothing so far.

I kind of look at Hamm's character like I view other CEOs/Owners/Upper management/etc in real life. Most interactions with higher ups in a position like he has are done over the phone or zoom. I think it actually helps drive home the point that Billy Bob's character really is the one on the ground dealing with all of the hardships of working in the oil industry.

I've got a NAS sitting in my closet that a friend gave me to build a Plex server on but I'm too lazy and don't want to buy hard drives for it when my laptop works fine for Plex. Heard you can run one on a Raspberry Pi too.

Yeah I'm thinking a NAS might be the route I should take after doing some research. Sounds like I don't have to invest in expensive SSDs either which is nice, those things get pricey haha

Think I'm just gonna continue using my Shield for Plex until it becomes a problem, but use something totally different on my TV itself

Watching the first season of True Detective and the last fifteen minutes of episode 4 has got to be some of the most intense television I've ever seen.
