where would i be if i was my brain Prestigious

I personally want my holiday films to be fun and entertaining. Something to escape the chaos that this season can bring. I rarely sit down and focus on rewatches. I like to pop in and watch certain scenes or moments.

Home Alone is fine enough. I don't love it, but it's enjoyable. Just watched it over the weekend

Gotta watch my annual Christmas movies over the next couple of weeks..

The stop motion Rankin Bass specials
    Frosty
    Grinch
    Charlie Brown Christmas
    Scrooged
    Christmas Vacation
    The Santa Clause
    The Night Before

... Feel like I'm forgetting some though

any Christmas movies list is valid as long as it doesn't highly rank The Polar Express (or better yet, if it doesn't include it)

I really liked the Neil Patrick Harris movie "8-Bit Christmas" that came out a couple years ago. Feels like a nice modern day successor to A Christmas Story that sort of flew under the radar.

ngl I have a soft spot for the live action grinch, Carey is great in it and idk, its so ugly but theres a charm to it. Granted I was 6 when it came out so Its mostly nostalgia.

It’s 105 minutes long and feels like it’s 4 hours. Bad bad movie.

my parents took me and my sisters to see it around the same age. it's definitely not a movie that's aged all that well, but i have some nostalgia for it. will always prefer the Boris Karloff version.

An absolute classic for me that gets watched almost yearly is Arthur Christmas. For anyone who has kids that hasn't seen it, give it a go. Super fun with good humor for the adults too. Looks to be on a few streaming services... (James McAvoy, Hugh Laurie, Bill Nighy)/

I also thought Klaus that came out on Netflix about 5 years ago is a good one, though maybe not all that fun or whimsical for kids but it's beautifully animated and a good story.

every time i see the name Arthur Christmas, i always forget this is the name of an actual movie and not just referring the hour-long animated Arthur Christmas special i remember enjoying as a young kid

  13. Yeah I like both of those ones too (Arthur and Klaus)

One that is definitely way too long that I’ve always liked anyway is The Family Man

We went to see The Holiday in a theater last weekend since it’s my wife’s annual rewatch. It was very fun audibly swooning over Jude Law in unison with a couple hundred other folks

Watching Home Alone 2 for the first time in like 20 years. So weird seeing absolutely no security whatsoever at the airport, or luggage being taken at dropoff outside, haha

A Christmas Story kinda sucks if we're being honest.

Watched I'll Be Home for Christmas a couple days ago and it was more fun than I remember.

The Christmas Story sequel surprisingly wasn’t bad. Like, just a nice Christmas movie to throw on when you don’t care if you fall asleep and miss anything.

I didn’t think the live action Grinch would hold up but I put it on over the weekend. My sons both liked it and I have to say I found myself chuckling at some of Jim’s antics. Still a very early 00’s Ron Howard/big budget Universal vibe that I don’t like.
