I fully agree with that statement and I cant stand it. In fact, there were shows that I enjoyed when they came out, but gave up on after a long break and forgetting what happened the previous season.

 

tbf the "modern trend" is largely the result of the biggest union strike in the industry in a decade but yes it is silly that shows like the bear being on every calendar year is treated like a novelty now

 

Creative Arts Emmys last night really hitting home that FX is the premier prestige TV spot right now. Shogun absolutely dominated Drama, The Bear absolutely dominated Comedy, and Welcome To Wrexham dominated Reality. FX had a combined 23 wins, which no other network even came close.

a year or two ago I thought Apple was on it's way to becoming the new HBO, but it turns out it's FX.
