Euphoria is all over the place, insanely ridiculous and over the top. Overall, it's a fine watch but I can see why many people cannot get into it.

  3. 1/2 through this season of Blindspotting, and god damn if it just might be the absolute best show I see basically no discussion of. Super underrated to how awesome it is.

I have heard nothing about it besides the ads I’ll see on Starz. Is it related to the movie?

I think The Missing (also on Starz) was the best show I ever watched that absolutely nobody talked about.

  6. Yep, from the creators, takes it in a different direction with new characters (but they both show up), and might be one of the best portrayals of the consequences of the carceral state I've ever seen.

    That Arnold doc. Yeesh

Only sort of maybe hints that his father was a Nazi and starts playing energetic yeah baby music when Reagan is elected. Schwarzenegger himself comes off as kind of terrifying

I was in for the Jim Cameron interview segments. They were gold. Not sticking around for part 3

I'm not supposed to tell anyone but Starz will actually pay you to watch their shows

It’s not the Chorus demo, but “Outlander” certainly did or maybe still does numbers for them because it’s the target audience that will pay for Starz.

Without going into too much detail, I work for major media marketing research firm. I conduct marketing research studies with people. Part of my job is collecting demographics and what streaming services people have.

The notion that "nobody watches Starz" is bullshit. Starz is very popular, and the only reason you guys think it's not is because their strategy right now is to narrowcast to a demo other than your's.

Starz is giganticly popular with black people. Like huge. Middle to upper income Black 18-49 year old households is their target demo right now. Black households subscribing for the Power-verse makes up the vast majority of their current subscriber base, at least from what I have seen at work.

I forgot about power and all those spin-offs. Tried to watch the first season and never finished it.

The Max app sucks now, but I was able to change my profile pic to Guy Fieri so I guess it evens out.

what, are you implying chorus dot fm is mostly made up of middle-to-upper-income straight white cis men in their late 20s to early 40s or something? I don't see how that could be the case

My company sells a TON of our films to Starz for streaming/broadcast, so I'm pretty familiar, otherwise I don't personally watch anything on the service

Yeah I feel like the ads I get for Starz on Instagram are either “we have Power!” Or “we have spider-man!”

  22. HBO has a reputation for prestige, quality television series (so obviously it's a stupid move to drop HBO from Max). That being said, I don't think Euphoria is prestige TV. It's mostly well acted but mostly not well written. It's almost like they made a YA novel TV-MA simply for shock value and just happened to luck out with the cast. It's an important show for me personally though solely because we're so starved for good trans representation

  23. I keep forgetting I have Starz

    So how is July looking?

    For bigger stuff we got:
HBO/Max - How To with John Wilson season 3 (final season)
FX/Hulu - What We Do on the Shadows season 5
    FX/Hulu - Justified: Primeval
Netflix - The Witcher season 3 volume 2
Netflix - The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 volume 1
Apple TV + - The Foundation season 2
Apple TV + - The Afterparty season 2
    Peacock - Twisted Metal

I don't see anything new of note coming from Amazon or Disney+ in July. The only thing of note from Paramount+ is "Special Ops: Lioness", which is a new Taylor Sheridan joint starring Zoe Saldana.
