I get what you’re saying though. When you have something solid at its core and it begins to try new things, it’s easier to focus on the new/weird things if they don’t work well or fall flat. I’m staying vague on Mando as to not spoil anything. I’ll keep my detailed thoughts to that thread.

 

There's also this weird element now with sitcoms where we ask like "was that storyline really necessary" which is kinda funny to think about when you consider they used to be 24 episode seasons with like 95% fluff haha

 

But now when you only do 8 a season (for Mando at least), that fluff feels far more detrimental to the flow and enjoyment of the show.

 

Everybody Loves Raymond had an entire episode about Marie having repressed lesbian tendencies because she tried sculpting and ended up sculpting what looked like a giant vulva IIRC

 

Fond memory of that one, huh David?

Just finished watching the new Power Rangers: Once and Always movie on Netflix. Surprisingly fun and super nostalgic, and not half bad. It felt like watching an old episode of the show in the 90s.

First episode of Mrs. Davis was wild

 

binged the last two seasons of Atlanta. haha the third season is so fucking weird I love it. Last season was also very solid, spent a good amount of time with each character.

The series finale of Picard is better than anything Marvel and Star Wars. Top-tier television and art in general and it felt like a movie combining elements, characters, and villains from multiple series. I’m so excited for the future of the Star Trek canon timeline.

Now catching up on Better Things, just finished S3. For better or worse, most of the episodes individually aren't very memorable, they kind of all blend together, but that's just the way real life is, I guess; the show overall gives such a pleasant cozy feeling. It's not at all experimental like Atlanta and that's totally fine

Why?

 

I can tell I'm gonna have a blast with Mrs. Davis. One ep in, and I'm hooked.
