So what are the odds of this festival actually happening / MCR actually playing if it does? I’m really tempted to buy a ticket but afraid of my money being tied up if it gets postponed blah blah blah

Yeah I’m sorry I’ve been biting my tongue all day. All these bands posting that on Twitter like bro you guys REALLY are hyping up this massive festival right now? In the midst of a omicron surge and multiple shows have been getting cancelled!? This is just like the last wave of shows announcements like every band is struggling and venues are too. So I get that they want to start announcing stuff for live music again. Though can we not? Let’s just hold off for a bit until we return to some normalcy. Rant over

I mean, a bunch of these bands played shows last summer/fall, but not MCR. They seem to be the utmost cautious, and like they simply won’t play until Covid is over, which is never , so they’ll never play.

I mean, it is nine months away. Not like it's two months from now.

Didn’t someone leak that My Chem was in a studio before they even announced their reunion or am I mixing that up with Fall Out Boy? I figured they were waiting on their tour to release an album

Yeah, I totally understand that there’s a lot of uncertainty again right now, but I think it’s reasonable enough to think that by October it’s likely to be a very different (hopefully improved) environment with COVID and live events of this size will be doable again.

It’s 9 months away. These bands deserve the opportunity to continue to plan their careers, if it doesn’t end up happening, so be it. Let people have some optimism though.

Yeah, I mean... Coachella has moved 4 times and I never got mad at any of the bands for posting about the festival any of the 4 times

I rather hope that we will be in a better place in October than assume that things take a turn for the worse

People really hate seeing others excited about something huh lol

The festival is 9 months away. Bands are excited to play live again and bring in money, attendees are excited to get out of their homes and have fun again. Stop trying so hard to be cynical

this site had Br*nd New’s most anticipated for 201* for like 5 years in a row before they finally came out with their last album.

Also, Moderna's testing an Omicron vaccine right now, and Pfizer's about to start distributing an oral COVID treatment, so I'm hoping the medical response to the pandemic will help control it by the time this show happens.

Festival is also in Vegas, who has been taking Covid safety a bit more seriously when it comes to events. Had a friend who went to an AWS Cloud conference in Vegas last month and masks / proof of vaccination was strictly enforced.

Now if this thing were in Orlando, then I’d be much more pessimistic, since any of the above measures violate Florida freedoms and are not allowed.

Just got my email from the TD Garden in Boston saying that proof of vaccination is required, and a negative test doesn't count. Makes me feel a lot better about going

    Haha wow....

That just reminded me of that promo video of the hooded guys walking in the forest. Makes me think there's an album and music video that's just been sitting on a shelf for over 2 years.

Conventional Weapons rules. Love the garage-surf-punk-rock vibe it has.
