I'll need to wait to watch this in a bit but I already spoiled myself with the big opening spoiler lol.

It sounds INSANELY forced after all that development last season. Maybe there was drama on set after all. Excited to jump into this.

Well Sam sure came out swinging this season. One of the best and most intense episodes in the series so far.

 

Wow, I didn't think this show could make me feel bad for Phillip Price in any way but that opening scene was crushing

 

I really thought they did it too.

The blonde attorney Elliot was blackmailing looks so familiar.. is he one of the dickheads who worked at the newspaper with Nancy and Johnathan in S3 of Stranger Things?

 

Yeah he plays a dickhead in a lot of things.

 

Ok just finished. That twist was fucking crazy at the end there, wow. So excited for the rest of the season. That was a VERY strong premier.

Also, was that Sam Esmail who said "goodbye friend" at the end there?

 

Another random thought in my head: that scene with Darlene at Elliot's was shot sooo well. It was so smooth and seamless how Mr. Robot and Elliott kept taking turns at being in control when talking to her. So cool.

 

Yeah that was Esmail at the end. I need to read all the theories about the show runner saying goodbye to the main character.

 

Also that was definitely Emmy Rossum singing christmas carols right? I was like no way she'd show up just for a ten second shot but now I just read she's married to Esmail.

 

Yep, this was absolutely incredible. The opening twist was so fucking sad but also incredibly well-done, and I honestly don't think it was forced at all, I definitely think it will set the events of the rest of the season in motion. Elliot REALLY wants revenge now (the picture flashing onscreen for like a split second shows that it's constantly on his mind and he's trying to repress it, he can't "unsee" it imo). The scene with Dom was super intense too.

I never actually thought Elliot would die but I did start to doubt it for a few seconds lol. I really love that I have absolutely no idea where this will go, I never in a million years would have expected Angela to die at all, especially in the first five minutes of the premiere

He's also Gary Busey's son lol

thoughts on the premiere:

I had a feeling that Angela was going to die, but the death felt extremely true to her character. it didn't seem premature to me. she didn't falter or anything like that - she stayed with her values even though she knew it was going to mean death. I will seriously miss her character and I hope that we get to see more of her through Elliot's grieving throughout the season - flashbacks and such. I don't think that she will actually come back, but Darlene seeing her (while high or not) definitely gives enough suspicion.

the show got me whispering "what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck" in classic fashion when the Taxidermist (Tanis?) asked Dom about her Santiago interview. that was perfectly delivered imo.

someone mentioned it in the subreddit, but Esmail being the one to say "Goodbye, Friend" took me out of the show for a second, but at the same time, I don't really care. he deserves to be able to cameo in his own show (clearly), and I was brought back in really quickly. I also thought Vera was going to be the one to bring Elliot back from death, so I was shocked to see Phillip Price. I think that Vera will come back because he will be the one selling Darlene the drugs.

lastly, there might still be drama and/or lost friendships between Portia and Rami, but this article makes me think that overall Portia enjoyed her time on Mr. Robot and that makes me feel better! All of the rumors about her hating the show put a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth, so I'm glad I read this article: 'Mr. Robot' season premiere victim speaks out: 'It felt good that I was dead'
I clearly have a lot of feelings about this show.

 

Holllyyyy shit. That episode didn't fuck around.

I'm bummed Angela died so early, that scene with Prices "I wish you hadn't said that..." really reminded me of the first season of Barry, and as soon as he said it I knew it was over. The shit with Busey was like the first scene of the very first episode, exposing the pedophile at the coffee shop. The credits fakeout. Seeing Emmy Rossum was jarring, as was Esmail, but I didn't mind either too much..

I bought the season on Amazon, did USA air it completely uncensored? Feel like there were more Fucks in this episode than most.

 

I still have no fucking clue what is happening but that was super intense. Sad about the start.
