Pneuma has grown to be my favourite over time but I still have a big soft spot for Waves. It's so good.

I think at some point every single project of theirs has been my favorite, but for the last few years it’s been S/T. They definitely have my favorite discography of any band ever. I never got the Waves hate either

Pneuma is also my favorite, quite possibly of all time.

Waves is good, but also touches on a sound I don’t really care about anymore. It’s darker than their other records and way more aggressive with screams and whatnot. The song structures are also much more traditional, and I personally prefer when they break the mold. Because of that, I rarely find myself wanting to listen to that album, but that’s not to say it’s bad or anything.

Pneuma is my fave, the S/T and Foreward. I don’t listen to the other album.

I used to only love Waves but then Pneuma blew me away after years of trying. Now Waves is starting to really grow on me. I'm gonna come back around to the self-titled eventually and see if I can finally click with it.

When S/T first came out I was really disappointed. I was expecting a Waves-type album and S/T didn’t fit that at all. I thought it sounded dreary and uninspired. How things change. Somehow over years it evolved into my favorite of all time

One of the nice things about Waves is the variety of vocal stylings they used.

While I loved the addition of Josh, Frank really brought an x factor to the band with his live energy and background vocals.

I guess I never though it because I figured Josh did both guitar and vocals in his one band so I figured when he took over it made sense.

Honestly, the instrumentation on both Waves and S/T is top notch. Is just feels like Greg didn’t play with his voice as much (maybe Waves could have been hard in his voice).

Had the same story with Waves actually, I was quite disappointed, listening on headphones the first time around - the next day I turned it on loud enough on speakers and already started loving what was new then. I obviously wanted to get some longer and atmospheric songs, but well, they're still there too.

I think Josh did a great a job! Loved his contribution! and well, I think Greg himself used to say it's too much for his vocals to sing the Waves era songs like that, and while I loved their live show and have some of the best memories with that even, it's still undeniable there were parts he couldn't recreate in a tour setting, very abrasive for his voice.

I get how Waves vocals could be tough to pull off routinely. I do wish for self titled he didn’t just stay in a vocal pocket. They allowed the guitars to do some awesome playing to make up for that. Some songs could have benefitted from variety, and I don necessarily mean screaming. Just like edgier moments, which also adds something to the softer moments.

Waves really opened my music tastes at the time. It made me appreciate the albums I didn't quite connect with yet that were like them, kinda helped get me into both heavier and headier music in retrospect

Toe is one of the best bands out there. Check out te, miaou, LITE, and mouse on the keys. If moving mountains is everyone's gateway to j post rock, I'm a happy camper.
