Yeah I remember maybe the first movie of each of those series and then have no idea about the rest.

 

I saw this in theaters with my parents while on vacation. Lol.

 

Robin Williams, Billy Crystal, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Ivan Reitman... that’s a recipe for success, baby! What went wrong?!

 

I had completely forgot it existed until I saw it on HBO yesterday and def realized I watched it, possibly multiple times, back in the day.

 

I remember always seeing that on the shelf at the video store in town.

 

That movie and it’s Sugar Ray cameo definitely exists.

Billy Crystal was really the king of bad studio comedies for a long time. I remember seeing them at Blockbuster all the time as a kid.

 

Forget Paris still slaps!

 

Still amazes me how bad "America's Sweethearts" was with such a solid cast.

 

His directorial debut Mr. Saturday Night is a bit underrated, imo

 

that movie makes me irrationally angry

 

seeing the poster for Fathers Day...man... to me its all really fasicnating to what hollwood was in the the 70s/80s/90s. Just shitting stuff out and everyones like "who cares, we're all rich, it doesnt matter".

like Billy Crystal and Robin Williams sounds like a big deal

 

I mean they were already known for their Comic Relief fundraiser specials with Whoopi Goldberg so a comedy film with the two of them was inevitable

and speaking of Ivan Reitman, I feel like there were a bunch of comedy directors who scored big hits in the 70s/80s but by the 1990s they all fizzled out... Reitman, John Landis, John Hughs, Mel Brooks, Zucker Brothers, Joe Dante. In fitting with this thread, there’s a bunch of their latter work that people probably forgot or didn’t know

 

All of these. Seriously, I thought of the first one and when googling for an image I had no fucking clue they made sequels haha

 

I had heard there were Johnny English sequels, but I didn't think they were real.

 

Johnny English is super forgettable, but Mr. Bean, the show, is so, so good.

Everyone watch the Christmas episode if you're looking for holiday stuff.
