  3. Is Searching getting a wide release? Can't use Moviepass on it if it's not playing near me. (I live in LA County. Of course it's playing near me. I mean within a reasonable distance.)

Fuck that shit. I'm probably out of this as soon as my annual subscription is up.

Apparently they’re refunding annual customers the prorated rate if they want to cancel before their year is up.

The email said my annual plan renewed on August 24th though but my plan actually renews in November so I’m hoping this email wasn’t supposed to go out to everyone. I really doubt that though.

I just got that email too, I might try to get one more in before the 8/31 cancellation deadline. But I'm probably going to jump ship then.

I signed up in March so if I can get almost $50 back for cancelling within the next week, that works for me. I already signed up for AMC A-List since the limits on movie choices came to pass so I was just keeping this until the end of my subscription for the hell of it anyways.

I ordered annual passes for my wife and I on 2/28, we got our cards/our memberships officially started on 4/19 (yup).

We each just did a mock cancellation and it offered both of us a full refund, not prorated for the 8 months or so that we have left. We've seen 11 movies in about 4 months, so we'd be right in line with the new 3 movies a month rule; plus, we live like 2 miles from a theater.

    Decisions, decisions...

Check your billing date. My billing date was November 24th and now it says September 24th. This is some real bullshit

I found out about the change to annual memberships when I got my ticket to Happy Time Murders today. I’m forsure going to cancel by 08/31. 35 movies since March 30th and I’ll get more than half of that back. That’s an offer I can’t refuse, MoviePass. The email said my plan started July 30th too lol

  15. Now it says my plan is Monthly $0.00 and my next billing date is 9/1...

    ????????

  16. The email said my plan started in August? Um, no, I paid for a year back in December. wtf is this.

This may be wrong, but I think the email saying that our plans started in August and July are referring to when your current cycle started (current cycle of three movies, that is). So, even though I started in April, and my email says August 7th, that just happens to be my start of the recurring cycle that we are now all on. They probably have to manage all accounts as monthly accounts, even for those annual subscribers, so they can accurately police the 3 movies a month limit. So, annual subscribers will just be shown a $0.00 charge per month until their year is up.

Getting a $62 refund. Bye-bye Moviepass. You fucking suck, but thanks for the $1.29/ticket I got for 35 movies.

I'm glad I got out of it. I had cancelled but then at one pointed it said I opted into the new plan, however after my billing date passed it wouldn't let me use the app unless I reactivated my plan and never charged me. What a fucking mess.

I legit just miss going to the movies every week. It is killing me Regal is just waiting to announce their system.

Theory: Regal has no plans for a service because they think the AMC one won't exist after a year or will be dramatically different enough where it will lose its value. Probably wrong but there's no reason why Regal hasn't announced anything yet

I think I'm going to sign up for A-List. With the $62 I'm getting from my refund, my three month commitment with A-List will be covered by MoviePass. And if Regal has a deal announced by the end of the those three months and the value appears to be better I will switch over.

For some reason it let me buy a ticket to Fallout. So I’m seeing that in a lil bit.

I’ve been able to check in to “non supported” movies this past week. But then showing up is random and unreliable.

Alternate theory: Regal was bought out by Cineworld, who have had a subscription model in the UK for forever. Once the dust settles and Cineworld decides what big picture changes they might want to implement with their new acquisition, they'll roll out a similar plan.
