Also, F1 at one of the shittiest tracks on the calendar, Hungary. Would again be nice to have a winner different than the big 3

Monster lap by Russell to put it on pole.

Don't agree that Hungary is bad. Despite being a narrow, difficult to overtake track, we've had some absolute bangers here.

Also, I would not have predicted that quali result very quickly. Wow.

I really want Lewis to maintain his win in every season record (because it's remarkable), but if George can keep the Ferraris behind him tomorrow, I'm going to go nuts. That would be an incredible first win.

Why is Charles on hards when all the drivers on hards have hated them? Those tyres absolutely ruined the Alpines...

Wtf are they doing. Is their strategy today to just use all of Leclerc's tyres? Christ...

Ferrari really are terrible at this. Need to get Todt and Brawn back.

I'm so mad about Ferrari. Not even a Ferrari fan, but it's so frustrating watching them piss a good car and top drivers up the wall.

Amazing work by RB and Merc today. The pit strategy for Max was absolutely perfect alongside his drive. So good he could do a little celebratory spin and still win by 8 seconds.

Spa 24 Hours was great, although with such a high level of quality among a good amount of teams at the top, they all ran lap times so close to each other, which made on-track passing a little less than I hoped for. Winning Mercedes GT3 cars are just so reliable and fast

I’m watching the replay now and just absolutely baffled.

Good god that second Verstappen overtake on Leclerc looked more like best car on the grid vs the worst rather than the two best cars going at it. How did Ferrari fuck this up so bad.

They put Leclerc on hards because they'd run out of medium tyres. Unsure how many sets of softs they had left though, because the hard tyres were clearly absolute dog eggs. They'd have been better off just throwing caution to the wind and letting Charles burn through two sets of softs in the hope of making places back (something we've seen 3 years running here from RB and Merc).

It just paints a picture of shit planning though. Like, if they'd used up their tyre allocation, why did they then get drawn into doing short stints on the mediums to fight with Max? How did they anticipate that their car would be great on hards when it seemingly trashed the race of any other driver who used them? I'd love to be a fly on the wall this morning as someone tries to justify what they were playing at yesterday.

Another weird moment for me this weekend is that I actually felt bad for Stroll. He was having a cracking race and was really upwardly mobile in the final stint, only for Ric to completely bin him.

Stroll/Ric was another terrible strategy call by McLaren. Putting Ric on the hards then the lock up causing the collision.
