only think i've liked out of this film so far

 

Kraven is already shooting and will probably be pretty fun.

Not promising that the writing duo for this (and multiple not-good movies) also, to the best of my knowledge, wrote the most recent Madame Web script. It at least has SJ Clarkson and Dakota Johnson going for it, while this has Jared Leto bringing it down, but still. Hope it gets a rewrite when this inevitably flops, instead of being canceled.

 

Madame Web also has Sydney Sweeney going for it

Not surprising, lol.

This started getting made when Marvel Studios and Sony had split, and then ultimately came out after both Carnage and No Way Home. And, the credits scenes connecting those two were late in the process.

I thought the reports of him doing reshoots in the winter were them trying to keep him in the film while massaging the continuity, but they must’ve been unable to do more than maybe a super vague credits scene.

Wish they would’ve cut Leto instead and just made Keaton the protagonist. Wouldn’t be the first super-bat-man he played!

lol, supposedly they didn’t just cut the Spider-Man references but also the Venom references?

Fully bracing themselves to hand wave this entire film and pretend it didn’t happen in any continuing universe. Too bad the marketing department is still stuck pretending it’s the next exciting Marvel film.

 

Not just the next marvel film, but giving us the next marvel LEGEND!

If this film is totally forgotten in 3 months that would be great.

No cameos other than a post credit scene will help that

 

they changed some form of bat radar to some form of echolocation in commercials and that's almost enough for me to want this to flop haha

Matt Smith on his role as Loxias Crown.

 

This movie is going to make a trillion dollars opening night.

 

Okay, I did a little reading and some of the confusion is because apparently Smith isn't playing Loxias Crown, despite several publications still stating that he is. But at some point I guess Smith's character was changed to an original character named Milo? Wild.

 

I mean, doesn’t matter much either way, I guess. Loxias Crown is a pretty forgettable deep cut villain from after the Clone Saga and before Identity Crisis & Gathering of the Five, who I only know because he was drawn by John Romita Jr, lol.

Would've been fun if they’d given him a costume like his comic counterpart, and then had someone better than Leto (not hard!) with that comic costume and a look that’s at least partially prosthetics. Would’ve at least had a fun camp factor then. Oh well.

 

Is there an actor with worse luck that Matt Smith in his roles? lol

 

Couldn't find a thread for this, so...

first *2006 phone camera* look of Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Kraven. Really hope he scores nicely with this. I think he got a lot of undeserved hate for Godzilla and his MCU role was cut incredibly short.
