god this fucking sucks. especially after their post the other day, I had a bit of hope he might pull through, certainly didn’t expect him to pass so suddenly. :(

 

This fucking hurts so bad. Jeremiah was not only one of my favorite drummers, but one of the best, creative and most innovative drummers of the genre. If not THE best of the genre. I just saw them at the beginning of the month not realizing that it’d be the last time I saw him behind the kit. R.I.P.

Terrible news. An amazing talent, probably the best drummer in indie rock history. Lived the rock star dream - making records too good to be ignored, several of which are acknowledged, rightfully, as classics, then becoming one of the biggest bands in the world due to an unlikely hit song - all without ever sacrificing creativity. The perfect REM-style acclaimed hip band to superstar to respected elder statesman pipeline. He was the backbone of it all. RIP.
