I will refer to a comment I made on the Youtube Video for OTS a few years back, whilst I was shall we say, under the influence....

This is fucking art. Brilliant lyrics aside, just close your eyes, take a moment, and reflect on where 2:47 takes you musically. If that doesn't move you or at least grab you in some way, you have no ears.

Cannot imagine anyone not enjoying this song. Objectively brilliant.

 

This has spurred me to listen to Good News again. Great album, but man I could do without Dance Hall and a few of these other tracks lol

 

Ocean Breathes Salty means a lot to me. Beautiful, timeless track

Think Good News is my fav album because of One Chance. Brock has written a lot of great lines but the first verse of that song "...my friends, my habits, my family, they mean so much to me..." was the rosetta stone for me with MM.

 

I think dance hall is essential. It helps the flow of the album. Haters please leave.

 

I had the DualDisc version of the CD and it had "I've Got It All (Most)" smack dab in the middle of the album, essential b-side imo

 

I did not expect these hot takes when I opened this thread today my goodness

 

woulda made a better closer imo as long as we're giving hot takes

 

I don't think I have any crazy Modest Mouse hot takes, other than We Were Dead being my favorite and STO not nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be, but those aren't too hot whatsoever.

 

"The Good Times Are Killing Me" is a top five MM song so I'm afraid I'll have to disagree here
