Obvious attempt to set up McGregor vs Diaz 3 with title implications, knowing damn well Tyron could humiliate Conor. Avoids the risk of damaging the McGregor brand while also giving him a more winnable title fight than Khabib/Tony....only problem is when Tyron crushes Diaz.

Otherwise, I can't understand the logic. No one is asking for a Diaz fight so I don't really even see this as going with the more "exciting" fight over RDA.

 

Dana shot down the idea. He says Woolley will fight RDA

 

While I probably won't watch, I love the Rockhold/Romero fight. Not sure who to pick in that one. I guess I'll lean Rockhold, but Romero can flip a switch and end it quickly. I think I'm taking Blaydes over Hunt, but same thing applies.

 

Wish it were a stronger card tbh. I like Rockhold and hope he wins, but i'm not paying 50 bucks for just that fight.

 

Hopefully next TV deal they cut back on events to beef some of these up, but I won't hold my breath.

Watching Rockhold lose kind of sucked. I’ve been a fan, I think he’s gotta find his rhythm again. Fuck Romero, never liked him and he missed weight. Hope Whittaker crushes him.

 

I like this Nelson/Mitrione fight, think I'll lean Matt on this one.

This is true. Feels like an even match up. I’d say Vitor takes it since he’ll likely want to end on a high note. I take it this is his last fight unless him vs Uriah Hall is rescheduled. But I don’t believe there are plans for that.

 

Anybody else think the athletic commissions need to seriously work on finding referees that are able to properly supervise fights? Stephens threw multiple illegal blows after knocking down Emmett. Actually fractured a bone in his skull too. Then Stephens wants to claim he's the best and demand a title shot because he's got a few wins in a row, ignoring that 5 out of his last 10 fights he lost. Please.

 

Reffing has been absolutely fucking terrible over the last 6-12 months. Way worse than I can ever remember it being.

 

I know Dean obviously can't do all of them, but holy fuck pay the man twice as much and let him do more fights. Seems to be the only one who's consistent.

 

I'm sure there's multiple things that factor into that (most of it is just plain negligence) but I sort expected this as a byproduct of the rule changes - especially when only some of the states adopted them. When the illegal knees hit, the refs don't even remember what to do and can't remember if they're legal, if they can use replays, if they can pause the fight, etc.
