omg this CKB crew is really annoying with these baseless claims about cheating.

 

Literally nobody wants to see that fight again and there’s no reason at all for Peña to deserve a rematch after getting destroyed. I get that 135 is super shallow, but that’s just making a fight for the sake of making a fight. What a weak main event.

like it was obvious Nunes overlooked her in the first, went for broke after getting rocked, never pulled it together, and lost. She came back and dominated the rematch after taking it seriously. What is there to settle here??

I think 2020 ruined the way this company thinks about business but because they were in such a unique position during the pandemic and they still made more money than ever, they're convinced that it's the best way to run things and Endevour/whoever lets them get away with whatever they want now. The last year+ is a direct result of that.

 

Most of the title fight matchups have been meh in the last few years because of their insistence on rematches. Like the UFC set weird precedents so anytime a champ gets dethroned, they get a rematch….then if they win it back, there’s another rematch. It gets old. It feels less exciting when a champ gets dethroned because you might get stuck in a loop.

If Izzy wins this fight this weekend, you know they’ll do a rubber match. They would have done the same with Usman had he just won the belt back.

 

I wonder if the first usman/leon fight wasn't in SLC would it have gone more like the second fight? I guess i never put much thought into it until now but it would be so sad if Leon never hit that kick because now we know that it wasn't a fluke.

 

To make matters worse for upcoming PPVs: Jones/Stipe hasn’t even been discussed for July lol

 

Not trying to at all defend rebooking this as a headline. Pena bassically won the first fight by spamming the dipping jab which Amanda had no reponse for. In the rematch Nunes switched to south paw to nulify it and used the check hook when Pena stepped in. I would love to see Pena just practice dip jabbing from south paw for the rubber match

 

She won spamming the dip jab on a cocky nunes who didn't have any respect and planned to walk through her like she did Cyborg. It was a decent game plan by Pena but it only worked to the extent that it did because Nunes wasn't fighting smart. I think Pena was in her head a little. The next fight we all saw what happened though. She lost almost every minute of the fight. If you need a new camp to adjust after your only winning tool got nullified by a stance switch i don't see any reason for a rematch.

 

Anyone remember that counter Amanda landed in the early rounds that literally took Peña off her feet? I think that’s the hardest punch Nunes ever landed.

 

haha again i dont think it dersevers a trilogy, but if its happening anyway. Its already very funny to change your whole stance over a dipping jab, and it would get even better for Pena to change hers to get it back. If you lost your title to the counter stance switch stance switch into dipping jab then you didnt derserve it.
