Shit, I mean I can’t knock Belal for jumping at the opportunity but certainly confusing and a bit lop-sided. If ring rust doesn’t effect Edwards I think he takes that easily.

I mean it’s a similarly ranked opponent and gets Edwards active again. It’s a no brainer for Belal. Low risk, high reward fighting someone ranked in the top five on short notice.

Wow! I feel like the fights at the apex have had so many weight issues.

I don’t even know why he came out to the scale you know they’re not gonna let you fight.

Haha god forbid you just fight at middleweight. Or welterweight. Or lightweight.

I mean, I wouldn’t wanna have to spend my time building myself up in a weight class that ends in me getting dominated by Izzy or Usman haha. But really, the man seems to have been bouncing back and forth between lightweight and featherweight in his career. If he didn’t even make lightweight this try, featherweight should not be an option for him anymore. Also isn’t their newer limitations in place as to how much weight you’re allowed to cut for a fight and also how much you’re allowed to put back on before the fight?

That dude looked like he didn't have another pound to cut. Holy shit.

I think that is just certain commissions (like California) and not even enforced that often. I don’t even think you get punished for the current fight for cutting too much, but if you cut more than 10% of your fight-day weight, the commission has the power not to sanction you at that weight class next time.

He was starting to look pretty good too; the other guy seemed a bit gassed from that barrage he threw earlier. Hope Arlovski keeps fighting

Some good fights tonight so far

Chris weighed 234 at weigh-ins, yet he still looks a tad chubs at the belly

I’m shocked. I for sure thought Blaydes was going to take him down and lay on him for five rounds. I assume Lewis will get the winner of Gane/Rozenstruick since the division is going to be tied up with John Jones moving up.

Any word on when Jones might have his first fight?

Booking will depend on what condition the winner (Stipe) is in after title fight.

That knock out was crazy. He timed that counter uppercut perfectly twice. No one has really read his takedowns that well yet. Crazy. MMA math is too funny.
