“His schedule is packed — his solo tour starts in October, right after the Wednesday tour ends, plus there are one-off appearances with Waxahatchee, with whom he’s been making new recordings.”

This is a really good album with a lot of funny lines. The back half had a few songs that didn’t do a ton for me on first listen, but that was also when I started to get slightly distracted, so we’ll see how I feel on second listen. In any case, this has a high shot of landing in my top ten for year.

i mean no surprise but the guitar tone(s) throughout is just so fucking satisfying

Somebody uploaded a FLAC to RED. If you need to hear it, well, I know I invited you to my Plex a while back…

Album’s good! I’m on my third listen, and the second was definitely better than the first. It’s very solid throughout.

    expected but the album rules.

fully realized "Wristwatch" early fave. "On My Knees" crazy Neil Young vibes and "Bark at the Moon" feels like him at his peak flexing a bit of muscle.

    Manning Fireworks fall!

I’ve listened to this probably six or seven times since yesterday. Loving it and each listen is better than the last.

His deadpan observational humor is pretty much second to none. No one close. Profound. He’s basically Jeff Tweedy’s heir apparent.
