After the huge disappointment that was Dial of Destiny, I'm sooooo stoked to see this on Thursday - pure fun and entertainment for 2 hours

 

Saw it yesterday and loved it. Even better than Fallout.

I'm pretty sure I'll actually enjoy this movie, unlike my experience with Dial of Destiny

 

she's listed in the cast for part 2, so we'll have to see what happens there

 

Currently the only one in the theater for the 6pm showing they just opened up for tomorrow

The seats recline, that row isn’t that close in these theaters, everyone calm down

There’s a theater here that has a pretty normal seating chart like that on the seat selection display, but the dimensions aren’t even remotely true to what the actual rooms are like so if you don’t select a seat in the first few rows you’ll get to your seat and be like

 

I liked this a fair amount. But I think I need to see it again. As of now, wouldn’t crack my top 3.

The action sequences are fantastic. Hayley Atwell’s character is an incredible partner to Ethan. There’s some good laughs. I like the AI as a villain.

BUT I feel like the human villain is a dud. He’s not menacing. All he does is speak in whispery, Shakespearian monologues. I also feel like a lot of the conversations are characters finishing each other’s sentences, which gets a little goofy when the movie is being SO serious. And it does gets pretty self serious.

Overall, a very good blockbuster. It tops just about any 2023 action movie that’s not GOTG3. The Italy car chase makes Fast X’s look like CGI manure. The train sequence is better than Indy’s train stuff. It’s nice to see characters that actually care for other people. I just wanted a little more from it that I got from some previous Mission: Impossibles.

 

This doesn’t top fallout but what a blast. Unfortunately you can sense the “this was made during Covid” of it all and I think that harms it

 

Has Part Two already completed filming?

 

I’m pretty sure McQuarrie said they’d be filming for the rest of the year but it’s currently on hold because of promotion for part 1. If the SAG strike happens, it’ll most likely be screwed though

 

gonna try to dip out of work tomorrow early to catch this

 

Started my week of Tom Cruise last night by watching American Made from 2017, and then tonight doing Rain Man (never seen before)

 

better than John Wick 4?

 

Still haven’t seen it!

 

Pretty good, but not as good as Fallout or Rogue Nation — clunky at times, especially the beginning.
