Not necessarily this order but I could go for:

    1. Steel and Blood
    2. Lies and Eyes
    3. Diamond Lightning
    4. Toska
    5. Lonely Gun
    6. Lucky Ones
    7. Last Kiss
    8. What About The Boat?
    9. Invisible
    10. Silver

Would be happy seeing Give & Take and Call The Cops on there as well.

for some reason voids is my first MTB album and I come back to it a lot. Haven't made my way thru the rest of the discog yet but I do like POI a lot.

that b-sides collection they released is better than this and IO combined but most of those b-sides are from the Menos/POI/Omni era so its kinda no contest.

this album and IO exist and thats about it for me. if some of the songs come on in shuffle im down with it and like mook said theyre very listenable songs, but god damn they drag on sometimes.

I think some of the newer songs could have used a trimmed down run time.

Like they do something interesting and they felt like they had to do the chorus one more time.

Kind of caught between interesting MTB structures and more pop oriented writing.

Actually all the b-sides are poi onwards, no menos, but including IO. But I agree, its the beat 'album' they've put out in like 7 years.

Some of those Omni and IO b-sides are a real head scratcher as to why they were left off the albums. Broken China is my jam

Listen to it all, including the EPs. Great stuff

This is a good album. I might trade Silver for Give & Take though

Give & Take comes so close to being a shoe-in for me, I just wish it had a better chorus.

well, second half (from "Silver" onwards) >>>>> first half. Just becomes overall much more energetic and lively, reminds me of why I like this band in the first place.

overall I'd say it's not great but not terrible.

Oh man...that closer. The last minute of "Lighthouse"? That's fantastic. It came out of nowhere.

"Silver" is such a token throwback to POI, but I love it and find it to be the album highlight anyway (well, maybe alongside "Call the Cops").

Silver the highlight for sure, but I'm not a fan of the vocals on Call the Cops.

Well, the vocals are by the keyboard guy, so I guess I can understand that.

I just think it's an outstanding song musically, even if it's not very MTB in its spirit.

Did the keyboardist write the song too.

I don't like this album much at all, but I have Lighthouse stuck in my head all of the time.

I'm surprised, I find Lighthouse remarkably forgettable. Like, I've listened to this album a fair amount, even recently, and I couldn't sing a single bit of that song.

This record has proven to me that the circumstances in which you first hear music absolutely matter. I first listened while driving in a bad snowstorm to a job I hated, and it made me hate this album. It’s definitely grown on me since then (especially “What About the Boat?”) but I don’t come back to it a lot because of that first listen.

I recently heard this again and I like the stretch from Invisible to Silver, but overall still disappointing.
