Felt terrible for him there. Nothing he could have done, just a rough bounce

    hmmm

He's worse on the first goal. Completely sells himself.

Ah didn’t see that. Just turned it on right before the hand ball

Will Real Madrid still want TAA after that performance? For free? Probably. For a fee? I'm not so sure.

United were legitimately good today, just had two head loss moments defensively.

Not every game will be like this, but if I was a United fan I’d be very, very happy with that.

yeah been ill, hasn't trained in a few days apparently

sorely missed today, Jones doesn't have the same energy. and with Konate just back from a month+ out and Trent seemingly not interesting in running at all, we had no one to do a lot of heavy lifting on the right-hand side

not sure i'd give Trent 300k/week after that performance. truly abject

if Bradley can't do 30+ minutes to shore up Trent, then put on Endo or someone with a sense of fire there, would've given us a better chance than Trent being caught out of position and not tracking back with any sense of energy

“Saliba didn’t get the ball, the ball got him” is the most stupid thing I’ve ever heard a referee say, and that’s a long fucking list

  11. I know he’s struggled at PSG. But I don’t know how much to weigh that. He was incredible prior to that move. Walked into a crowded team and then had a manager change. He looks like a great fit for Ange. We wanted him before PSG outbid everyone. I could see this happening. But he’ll have options.

Their own fans are correctly predicting them to lose 5-0 at home against a team who hadn’t won an away match since May lmao

Sounds like Dyche is on the precipice too. Wonder who they'll go for once the trigger is pulled.

Dreamland would be Iraola or Frank plus a budget for them. We are the 6th richest club in the league now, plus the new stadium - it simply has to be enticing, right?

Joachim Löw or Kasper Hjulmand, perhaps?

Moyes back for round two would only interest me if he was a "firefighter" type until the end of the season. Probably not the time for sentimental choices, like.

Southgate would make me reach for the bleach.

Club legend Wayne Rooney is available too?

In all seriousness, agree about not being the time for sentimentality. Feels like the club is in a tight spot. Hire the wrong guy, lose the defensive stability without gaining anything going forward (which lets be honest, is entirely possible given the serious lack of quality in the squad) and it's relegation.

I think you're safe from Southgate, he's been talking a lot about taking a break and his next job maybe not even being in football.

Maybe it's cause I'm local so Boro are always on my mind, but could be a job for Michael Carrick. Shocked he's not been poached by anyone else yet tbh.

Spot on. Makes me think it's got to be a defensive type as that's where the squad is, dare I say, strong? The fans won't be happy as we're sick of dull football, but we've got to be realistic.

You'll know more on Carrick as a manager than me. Obviously, he was a fantastic player, but is he defensive enough in his approach? Just had a lazy look and it looks like whilst Boro are joint-second highest scorers in the Championship, they've only kept 5 clean sheets. Is there more to the story than that?

I wouldn't describe Carrick as defensive, no. Definitely a more possession based, attacking philosophy. Defensively, I think they've suffered with injuries, players out of form, horrendous goalkeepers, but they do have a bit of a habit of throwing away leads as well as playing down to their opposition. I think he has the potential to make the step up - his system would work better with better players. But you could say that about all managers really. He seems to be pragmatic though, not married to a system if it isn't working, which makes me think he could gradually build something at Everton - keep them up this year, then build next year. Similar to what he did with Boro.
