The way this tweet is worded is so funny. Like we did actually offer him the job but he was confused because he doesn’t speak English lol

Some absolutely massive clubs in that too. Genoa, Hertha Berlin, Standard Liege, Vasco da Gama. Mad.

Really interested to see how Liverpool get on over the next few games.

They look good to me, but there’s also an argument that they’ve had a very easy start and lost to the only decent team they have faced in the league. Next few games are Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton, and Aston Villa.

Everton have had the equivalent of having a shot cleared off the line by the Friedkin's here. Wow.

yeah I'm not quit sure they're as good as their results are showing. then again, I thought that last season and they were still up there at the business end of the season getting decent results.

  7. I think we have a clear top of the league group of teams: City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and maybe Villa. But I think Villa is below the other four. Of those four…none of them have really been more impressive than the others so far imo. I could see any of those teams winning the league. But I’d still bet on Arsenal getting it done this year.

City fans jerking themselves silly online to this news, when it’s really a nothing story. Essentially it’s just been found that the PL’s rules on associated party transactions need tightening up.

    The BBC report states:

City had some complaints upheld, with two aspects of the APT rules deemed unlawful by a tribunal.

But the Premier League says the tribunal rejected the majority of Manchester City's challenges and "endorsed the overall objectives, framework and decision-making of the APT system

The only really interesting thing from the news to me was that it pretty much shutdowns clubs taking 0% interest loans from club shareholders.

  11. Not sure this is too surprising but…

I noticed that basically all of the top teams struggled this past weekend. And I looked at the matchups.

    Liverpool v Palace
    Arsenal v Southampton
    City v Fulham
    Newcastle v Everton
    Chelsea v Forest
    Spurs v Brighton

Every match has one team with a congested Europe/Cup/league schedule v a team without out the schedule congestion. And it made for a few surprising results, and close games all-around. Arsenal won by 2 goals but it was a struggle for a lot of that game.

Villa v United - both teams with the shitty schedules and it was a dud 0-0 game.

The schedules are just insane now.

  12. Just realized Newcastle doesn’t have Europe. But they did just play a midweek game when Everton hasn’t in weeks.

Those are the breaks when you're successful, I guess? How shitty would it be if the successful teams were allowed to recuperate and therefore be successful constantly? The disparity in the leagues is strong enough as it is.

Yeah, this was my takeaway too. Probably not an issue for most clubs though, as I doubt it can be retroactively put in place.
