Salah stayed the same and KDB dropped 1.0m

  2. I look at it this way. If you have Haaland, you can have one second tier premium player and virtually no premium defenders or strikers other than him. If you don’t take Haaland, you can afford a top premium at every position. You just better nail the differential players you have with the money you’re saving on Haaland because there’s going to be those two or three weeks every season where he has three goals and an assist and you’re going to have to hope you have enough ground made up everywhere else.

Also, not sure if everyone saw, but they updated the transfer rules. In the past you could save your transfers and accumulate a max of two transfers to use. Now the rollover max is five. So technically every five weeks, you could transfer five guys in and out if I read it correctly.

There is also a new mystery chip this season but no one knows what it does yet as far as I know, haha.

Reading anything Liverpool related on twitter or reddit or whatever is such a waste of time right now. So many people losing their heads that transfers weren't announced July 1st and not many links have materialized

People just have no patience lol

New sporting director Richard Hughes said at Slot's first press conference that he imagines things will pick up in August. His comments in whole, made after the rash of PSR-related moves at the end of June:

And I think that after the flurry that there was in June, it will calm down a little bit now. That would be my prediction for the month of July. And then like always, when August starts and coaches have had more time to work with players, I think then the opinions will be more set at football clubs.

Then you may see a situation in August, like in previous seasons, is a little bit of hurry to get things done and to make sure that everyone's squads are in order. I don't think this will be any different, but who knows what will transpire economically? It's hard to say and speak for other clubs.

But that was probably the case in June and why situations occurred as they did. I'd see a quiet July and then perhaps a crescendo in August would probably await us all.

I get that reddit and twitter are a cesspool but I do generally like engaging there and talking about the squad, roster construction, etc, even if people have opinions I don't agree with. And I get that all the major summer tournaments are over, so we are decisively in the doldrums of summer and people are bored. But I really hate whining over transfers for sake of having transfers and the notion that the club lack ambition because no one is signed on July 20th.

Not to mention the contract concerns, which imo are more important than incoming transfers, with players who are still on vacation after the Euros and Copa

    Dani Olmo to United…???

  6. What’s the math on that? They have money coming in from the Greenwood deal plus they’re eventually going to sell Lindelof, right? So can they get Ugarte, Olmo, and de Ligt?

I’m not seeing a link or update from journalists. In the entire squad that’s the last position we need a player for with Bruno and Mount here. It’ll be Ugarte or a different midfielder and maybe another CB. Both would require a sale from the same position both for funds sake and place in the squad wise.

I haven’t heard anything about Olmo, but it seems to be one in, one out for us this summer. So Lindelof out, de Ligt (or another defender) in. AWB out, full back in. Eriksen, McTominay out, Ugarte in and so on. Those are the biggest rumours. Olmo doesn’t make too much sense unless one of Mount or Bruno leaves. Sancho obviously is still available for sale but I’d say if he goes we would go for a winger.

Does every team use Biggin Hill? I swear United nutters never shut up about that airport either.

No idea tbf. Arsenal fans have history in this. They tracked Auba’s flight from Dortmund, and tracked Partey via cloud formations lol.

Nothing will top Schneiderlin being confirmed for United by leaked blood samples from his medical, for me

  17. I’ve read that Olmo’s clause expired but he’s still available. Barca and “PL teams” looking at him.

Hopefully "PL clubs" isn't us. Olmo's a good player but he won't be cheap and his history of muscular issues would make me a little nervous.

  20. I also think Olmo would go for just about his release clause of €60m or a little more, but after incentives and the wages and stuff you’re talking about potentially a €100m player or more. I know he’s an exciting player but he has a pretty significant injury history too like you said… almost 70 games missed in the last four years. It just seems like a tough investment to want to make.

  21. This is certainly annoying.
