It may work against teams that give England a lot of time on the ball but I simply can’t see this midfield working against the better teams.

England a bit lucky here that Serbia are completely inept in the final third. They’re doing well not to give away any set pieces though.

Rice is so fucking good. Just casually dropping the same monster performance he does every week for Arsenal.

 

The way he uses his physicality and athleticism to dribble his way through multiple waves of pressure to either escape pressure and reset or to even kick off a counter is always such a sight to behold.

 

if this is an experimental lineup for ENG, I get it.

if this is game plan A, even for teams with more capabilities, then ENG are no longer favs
