Apologies if there are any Germans or scots in here but its nice when we can watch neutrally and say 'yep red card' and none of the usual 'well he got the ball first!'.

Lol I was watching on a little screen on my desktop at work and did not really see what happened and thought it was just the follow through on the kick that got the red, didn't see the second foot.

Also, I may have mentioned this but I’m part German.

But I never feel it and don’t root for them, as it just hasn’t ever been a thing in my life. My dad never supports them either, only England. Never know if I should be happy they’re doing well or want them to lose lol.

I'm not enjoying seeing Germany doing so well. As the home team with fantastic support, they'll be hard to stop. I was hoping to see the nerves get to them and Scotland frustrate them. Wishful thinking with the talent they have.

You could literally park a bus between Ralston and Wirtz for the first goal. I mean, have Scotland scouted the opposition? Wirtz has fed in pockets all season for a title winning team.

As someone who is a quarter Scottish, Irish, English, and German i’ve always viewed the Euros quite neutrally. Even for World Cups as someone born and raised in the US but coming from Canadian families on both sides i’ve never really had any strong rooting interests.

my grandparents were born and raised in southwest Ireland before moving to the US when they were 18-20ish, so it's been really cool seeing Kelleher thrive for Liverpool even if I have never been to Ireland myself

for Euros, I'm mostly following Liverpool players, not really rooting for any specific team. Maybe Ukraine since my cousin did Peace Corps in Ukraine like twenty years ago and married a Ukrainian guy. For Copa America, USA all day baby but I tend to follow the women's team more closely than the men's

Germany playing at the same level despite subbing off Wirtz and Havertz is frightening.

I would be absolutely LIVID. Upamecano is so inconsistent and prone to mistakes that drive me mental. He’s the one to move.

We'll see, but I'm hoping it says more about Scotland then Germany but that's the England fan in me who wants to downplay every team as someone they could beat. A very scary start for the hosts though...

Havertz totally whiffing on the ball that was teed right up for him has got to make Chelsea fans twitch and have flashbacks, right?

Turns out Germany with an incredibly well balanced squad, one of the best managers in the world, and being the host nation should probably have had them viewed as favorites coming in.
