As a long and storied CONCACAF fan, CONCACAF always disappoints.

    It's all hell.

I'm never going to stop being proud of Bakuyo Saka. He's a superstar

We'll see. Some of these players in the US squad might surprise. Any Twellman rant about poor performances would be missing the point about the roster that Berhalter put together. Mexico are the clear favorites (or were before that draw last night) and there would be no surprise if Mexico wins (or Canada, at that). Like you said, context is important so I'm not to stressed about Twellman anymore.

I'm looking forward to just enjoying the tournament and, hopefully, more or Mexico being v disappointing.

US C squad already with more goals than Mexico's A squad this tournament.

amazing stuff, second ever goalkeeper to win it since Schmeichel did it in 1992. I guess in 1960 Lev Yashin had to settle for a Ballon d'Or.

Not the most comfortable victory for the U.S.

they've come a hell of a long way since the Dominos pizza delivery boys of the 2014 WC. my goodness those were bad.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Don't feel too bad this morning. Didn't feel all that bad last night. For the first time in my life, I watched an England side neatly navigate a tournament, get into a final and give clearly the best team a scare. It's a young team who can hopefully take the positives out of this one and put in another performance next year.

Bit dissappointed by some of the stuff on the night; Kane and Stirling playing for free kicks all game in front of a ref who wasn't fussed about anything less than a wrestling move was frustrating. I also don't understand the subs made for penalties and the order they went in. Feel like Rashford, Sancho and Saka were thrown under the bus a bit there. Surely Trippier and Henderson would have had the calmer heads? Trying to remember who took them for us in the shootout we won in 2018.

Now if only we could root out the dickhead fans and throw them in the sea...

My biggest complaint is Southgate's poor use of subs throughout the tournament. I hope he is able to learn and make some tweaks to take advantage of the attacking talent England have.

Yeah, I feel pretty devastated. Not just because we lost, or even because it was penalties, but because yet again certain sections of the fanbase have shown exactly who they are.

it’s so depressing to see people sending Saka, Sancho and Rashford monkey emojis, after spending the last few weeks rooting for them. It’s all love and support until they put a step wrong and then out come the pitch forks and it’s genuinely depressing.

Also I think the scenes at the stadium show why England probably shouldn’t be given a major tournament for about another 20 years minimum. I know certain people on here will relate when I say that I’m so tired of being embarrassed by my country.

I really hope Rashford, Sancho, and Saka come out ok after this. Horrid position to be put in, even worse when you think all three qualify for the England u21's.

Definitely getting my new Saka shirt next month, and the Arsenal fanbase are already planning to sing a lot about him next season. We couldn’t be prouder and we’ll make sure he knows.

    hmmm

Yet again everyone falls into the same bleedingly obvious trap of publicly reporting and condemning the racist troll comments online as if that isn't the exact response they're looking for.

Majority of them will not be England fans, will live abroad and will be tweeting from anonymous accounts. Report the comment, then ignore it. Could see this coming a mile away.

    I do not exist.

What a vile thing football culture in this country has become. From drunken behaviour to abusing young Danish children to storming Wembley without tickets to racism. It makes me feel sick.

Congratulations to @Nick for winning the Chorus Sweepstakes. He has elected that each of us donate $5 to a charity of our choice in his honor instead of sending him the money.

It kinda feels like cheating, but I'm raising money for St. Jude for the marathon I'm running later this year, so that's where I donated @Nick. If you're unaware since I'm not really sure of their international footprint, St. Jude treats children's cancer/other such serious illnesses entirely for free. I've had a couple friends/neighbors receive treatment from them.
