International football and the hosting of international tournaments is already political. Allowing countries like Hungary to host games is political. But that makes UEFA money.

Ahh so you are the winner - I looked at your team at one point and you were in like, the top 0.05% of players or something!!! Congratulations on the win btw - Think I came 5th or 6th (my team was called 'Team Name' :crylaugh:) and I got my 2nd worst ever finish in 10 years of playing, was an awful season personally!

  4. Walker - Stones - Mings - Shaw
    Phillips - Rice
    Sancho - Foden - Grealish
    Kane

    I wanna see this today

Qatar and Russia hosting the last/next world cups sums it all up, haha.

Cheers! I actually slipped in rank towards the end of the season and I had no idea as to why lol. You know what they say, though, you're only as good as your current season!

Happy with that but Bellingham in for Rice and I'll be happier.

Fair play to the three clubs, this is cool and I may go.

Tonight’s line up doesn’t particularly excite me. Grealish starting is a plus. Think it’s harsh to drop Mings. No Foden is crazy. Saka is an exciting player but would like to see Sancho get a chance.

Hopefully Grealish drops in to midfield and picks up the ball rather than relying on balls over the top.

    hmmm

If Maguire's ready then it's the right choice. He's a much better defender than Mings.

I’m surprised there’s not even more rotation for England. They’re through and you’d think the manager would trust his squad to beat Czechia.

I think the R16 opponent is the determining factor here.

I like Saka a lot, but I think it’s strange he’s getting a start before Rashford or Sancho.

I can’t believe Rice and Phillips is still the starting centre midfield. There’s no real creativity in that. How he saw how Bellingham did after coming on against Romania before the tournament and thought “yeah clearly not good enough to even get a minute against the mighty Scotland” is beyond me.

I feel like the weight of a nation is on Grealish's shoulders tonight. He spoke a good game in his pre-match interview but I sure hope he's as confident as he comes across.

Anyway hope England lose and get knocked out somehow :-p

Like, I don't want England to struggle, per se, but I would probably still find it amusing given these odd line-up choices Southgate has made. Like, if Saka is the obvious choice, fine. But I don't think it's that obvious and I also don't think he is a guaranteed game-changer. All relevant stats seem to suggest that he might be the poorest choice between him, Sancho, and Rashford.

Naturally, he will score and/or assist today.

Even if no other reason than rotational purposes, why not go with Bellingham and Henderson than Rice-Philips?

I really didn't intend to watch this game but I can't help but pass on the potential drama.

Wait, isn’t Saka a left sided player? He’s on the right here.

Oof that was close. Keeper in no mans land

  25. England passing it back and forth at the back line until Kane comes all the way back and actually tries to do something
