It would hurt because my dads family hail from north London and I have such strong connections to the club through him. Before Covid I saw 10+ games a season just at home, dating back to 2005, with occasional games beforehand.

But I think I would stop financially supporting the club, unfollow all social media, completely detach myself and see how I felt after a few months with no football.

You can’t fabricate the connection you have to your club. I could go see another club every game for 19 years and it wouldn’t be quite the same.

it’s not just the club, it’s the people you see regularly in the pub before the walk to the stadium, it’s the years and years of loyalty and knowledge and rivalries, the songs you sing, the traditions, the guy who always sits in front of you. It’s more than just a club.

 

Barcelona need to win 8 in a row to guarantee the league. Game #6 in that stretch is Atleti. Same day as Madrid-Sevilla.

 

With Charlotte starting their MLS campaign next year I’ll probably just start watching more MLS. Which sounds dreadful. But it what it is.

 

That must be cool though. Do you think they’ll get much in the way of crowds?

 

Well I was worried at first because when they released the pricing for season tickets they got shredded because they were higher than expected. But I think they’ve already sold 12k seats which is kinda impressive. I got mine in a lower level corner and it came out to about $20 per game. So not bad imo.

 

There's been some solid games and wild goals this weekend already.

This Columbus-Philadelphia match will be worth watching here soon if you've got the time.

 

The Miami-Galaxy game was actually pretty entertaining in the second half. I can’t watch the afternoon game but I’ll probably try to catch the Portland-Vancouver game later tonight.

When Paulie was around, MLS was a lot more fun for me. But I’ve wanted to get down to Atlanta and over to Nashville for games for awhile now.

Lyon and Dortmund joining to undercut their league rivals who are staunchly against it could make it spicier.

 

I’m curious who Charlotte’s rival will be. The owner has already been talking shit to Atlanta so I guess that’s what’ll happen haha but I’d like to see one be formed on the field rather than a forced regional thing.
