Good win. Newcastle were less awful than I expected and gave us a good game in the first half. Glad Auba is scoring again, and Saka and ESR looked great as always.

Shout out to Cedric weirdly, he was great today.

Odegaard has asked to be loaned out for the second half of the season.

I see us being in for him 100%. We have a good relationship with Real spanning back to the Ozil deal, and are looking for a number 10 to replace Ozil and not overload ESR.

Imagine Dortmund, Bayern, Spurs and United will be in for him too.

Odegaard is a beast in FIFA 21, just sayin'.

Got him in my one of my first FUT packs, and he's been a staple in my squads.

I’d love Odegaard at United, but we don’t need him. We have three players that can play #10. No need to get a fourth for 6 months.

    hmmm

Lampard going for Pulisic/Abraham/Hudson Odoi tonight. Surprising that front three has played so little together.

I think he might end up at Arsenal purely cause I can’t see what other club would give him the game time that we would, that would also be if a high quality.

Unless he goes out on loan to Sociedad again, but that seems risky considering how good they are.

Lampard gone if they lose tonight? There was a rumour earlier in the week, but not sure if I believe it.

I would be surprised if this was his last game. He's in trouble though.

3 weeks since Pulis was sacked and there’s no clear candidate for the Wednesday job. Very worrying seeing as we’re 2/3rds of the way through the transfer market. On top of the manager we’re still a striker, central midfielder and a left back short. Things need to happen quickly.

    Leicester are top!

(I know city have two games in hand but still)

  14. What a wild season.

Spurs had a very shit month and are still very much in the title mix. I don't think it's likely we win it but I don't really trust any team right now. If Liverpool were to add a CB in the window I think they'd eventually break from the pack. But I don't see that happening.

If I was a betting man I would put money on City now. LFC and MUFC battle for 2nd and Leicester to get 4th! Chelsea 7th lol

I was trying to describe myself to someone

It does seem weird that the media keep talking up whoever is currently top, ignoring the number of games in hand and City's good form. They look like they're in pole position now. They also look like the only team with a squad deep enough to be consistent to the end.

I guess the CL might shake things up a bit for them, but it's surely going to be pretty ruinous for Liverpool's already knackered squad...

    It's all hell.

I know it doesn't seem likely, but Liverpool need to sign a centre back this window if they have any chance to win the league. The current system is totally destabilising their attacking threat and they're obviously much worse off defensively. (They also really miss Jota).

I think City will win it, with Liverpool, Leicester and United probably filling out the other CL spots? Tottenham will probably do much better than I hope though:crylaugh:.

Really tricky couple of weeks for Arsenal, but if we're able to find some consistency I don't see how we can't finish above Chelsea/ Challenge for Top 6. Hale End Boys are looking so, so promising.

Yeah if you told me at the start of the season that we would be 10th halfway through the season I would have been so annoyed, but the last few weeks have shown we have a bright future regardless of our current problems.

I think we have some really difficult fixtures in Feb.

United (h), Wolves (a), Villa (a), Leeds (a), Man City (h), Leicester (h), plus Liverpool and Spurs at home in early March.

If we can get through them with some okay results, I fancy us for a European place.

Guaranteed 3 points from us, unless you go into some really good form. We seem to only ever beat you when you're in good form and we always lose when you're in shite form.

Apparently, Danny ings is stalling on signing a new contract at Southampton because he wants to move to a Champions League club. I think that's bang out of order considering what Southampton have done to revive his career. I guess some folk don't know what's good for them even if it's starring them in the face.

    Oh good :-)

It’s just one of those weird feelings of football I get. If Arsenal are in good form I feel confident, if they’re struggling I’m terrified. I remember we went to the Emirates two seasons ago or so and ye were in shocking form but we struggled all game and gave away a penalty.

Lots of rumours that Ings wants to join us and we’re interested.
