Seeing Leipzig back when they were third Bundesliga was the first professional soccer game I ever went to and actually made me give the sport a chance after having never played/cared for it growing up. Super odd to see this.

RB Leipzig is pretty much the worst example to be introduced into the game. I can only hope you experiencing them first did not give you a wrong perception of the sport and especially of German football culture.

 

It's super weird. But apart from us fans having fun it is actually important for many smaller clubs to end the league, because otherwise they would get in serious financial trouble and some of them would certainly not survive.

I have heard of some of the controversies with their business model but don’t know a ton about it. Honestly the experience moreso made me appreciate the game itself and actually want to watch more. Before that I would never have turned on a match, regardless of the league.

 

The no fans didnt bother me that much.

 

What’s the backstory on Leipzig? I’ve seen you reference shady stuff from them but I don’t know the story.
