where would i be if i was my brain Prestigious

I hope not. I feel like NBC does a really good job here stateside. I know they're showing less games on TV which IS frustrating but with peacock coming if you pay for that you'll get the access to NBC Sports Gold.

    hmmm

I know it's the easiest thing in the world to say when I haven't had Mike Ashley in charge of my club for over a decade but this sort of thing would make me walk out on my team.

Ethical standpoints aside, is it even a smart investment on their end? With enough money and the right appointments they can do what Wolves have done and establish themselves as a top 10 regular. That’s just assuming they do it well from the very beginning. Jut look at the money sides like West Ham and Everton have spent in recent years only to be on the wrong side of 10th.

Realistically, if they want to make themselves a consistent top 4 challenger, they’re going to need to spend multiple billions of dollars just to give themselves a fair chance at success.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

This is largely how I feel about it. Of course Newcastle would join the sports-washing bandwagon with the worst candidate so far. Just typical.

To be honest, I don't particularly want owners who are just going to buy their way up the league. I'd much rather have sensible owners who invest in the club to grow in a sustainable way. Apparently the training facilities at Newcastle are looking a joke these days and I've seen a lot of people complain that St James' itself is looking a lot rougher than it used to. I'd rather someone come in and deal with that than make marquee signings.

Also, if this goes through, Newcastle will get absolutely blasted in the media for it. We got absolutely hammered when we got Wonga are our shirt sponsors (we weren't the only club with pay day lenders on our shirts, but that's the way it goes) and I don't see this being any different. Suddenly all the Saudi human rights violations will be directly the fault of Newcastle United. :crylaugh:

    Does anyone play PES2020?

I picked up the free "lite" version yesterday and it seems alright, wondering whether to get the full version or not.

What features does the free version have? Can I do a career and stuff?

There's no masters league or bal modes. Looks like the teams are limited too, can do that online clubs thing which seems ok but I think I'd rather do a masters league mode.

Only problem I have from a couple of matches is controls are a bit sluggish, but everything else seems to be good. I miss the old days of PES4/5 playing with mates after school.

Looks like Everton will sign Gabriel from Lille once the Coronavirus calms down. I don't know much about him other than he's a left-footed centre-back who's made 111 successful forward passes in Ligue 1 this season.

  10. I started a manager career as Poch with United.

This is my squad after the initial transfer window lol

    Lautaro Martinez
    Rashford - Bruno - Sancho
    Pogba - Neves
    Chillwell - Maguire - Lindelof - AWB
    De Gea

Martial, Rice, Hudson-Odoi, Grealish, Fred, James, Greenwood options from the bench

    Would be a fun team

  18. I know it’ll never happen but I want Spurs to sign Vardy. I know the defense needs an overhaul but I don’t think we’ll really make that next jump without another star up front. Kane is asked to do too much. And those two as a tandem would be tough to stop.

  19. awakeohsleeper

    I do not exist.

Do you think Kane & Vardy would succeed together? I only ask because the England team never seemed to use them together in the most effective way. I could see it working as a pair though instead of a 3 and pushing Vardy too far wide (which is what England tended to do).

  20. It’d have to be a pair. I don’t either would be nearly as valuable out wide. Kane could probably drop back a little bit and play more like a secondary striker.

Your away kit is nice though IMO (whether it is even real of course), I like that green colour:

Yeah I like that more than the initial leaks. I'd rather a proper green and gold one though :P

Absolute scenes if adidas did that lol.

What are your thoughts about Sancho too then? Looks like United are in pole position for him, regardless of whether the news that came out today is true or not.

Perfect fit. He's exactly what we need in the final third, a wide player who will be involved in all aspects of attacking play, unlike our current options which are more geared to scoring goals than creating chances. But then again, we've had a lot of transfers in the last 6 years which have seemed like the perfect fit, like Schmidfield. Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger, perfect combo of international and Premier league experience that were meant to come in and transform our midfield from weak and porous to a strong combative core, or Sanchez who was supposed to be what we would hope Sancho is.

What news came out today? I must have missed it.

I will tell you this though, the player I'm most excited for next season (maybe the season after), regardless of who we buy this summer, is Hannibal Mejbri. The kid is absolute quality.

He is a perfect fit for CFC too which is the frustrating thing! He has every physical, technical & mental attribute needed to play for United as the key player, and will make such a difference it will honestly make you the 3rd best team in the country just with his signing alone. Rashford - Martial/Greenwood - Sancho is as perfect a frontline as I can imagine, and it pains me to say it lol.

Todays news (in The S*n so obviously may be shite) is that all personal terms etc. have been agreed with him/agent, the only thing left to do is negotiate a fee with BVB.

And yeah that kid seems nuts - only heard of him through the FM20 wonderkids list (lol) but I saw some stats a while back (that I can't find now of course :sly: edit: averaged an assist every 55mins in the PL2!!!) that looked very promising for sure.
