I'm usually someone who backs Southgate but some of his decisions regarding the England squad these past few months have been really poor. There are plenty of RW options available to him that he does not need to pick Saka and risk further impacting his fitness - one of the games is a fucking friendly against Australia ffs

arteta, just under one year ago, talking about Saka playing too many games. Every word from Mikel's post-PSV press conference

Same thing with John Stones and City. Pep was not happy about it. Stones was on the bench this last game but he is not fully fit according to what I have seen reported.

  6. Lange seemed to do a good job at Villa. So I guess it’s a good hire. Paratici sticking around is great news though. He’s brought is so much young talent and it’s finally starting to show this season.

What a player. Shame injuries basically ended his career.

Hosting the euros but not qualifying is going to hit different

So is that England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland all auto-qualified or is there some other scheme going on?

So they’re all qualifying because they want to play competitive games in the build up to it instead of friendlies, but UEFA have said they will give two of them an automatic place if they don’t qualify. Presumably because they suspect Wales and Northern Ireland won’t get there.

Either way, hopefully I make it to another game. Saw England vs Croatia in 2021, so hopefully I can make it to a game at Wembley or Villa Park, regardless of who is playing.

Interesting, I would have expected them to do it the other way around - hold a "Home Nations Championship" with X number of qualifying spots and then whoever misses out goes into the general qualifier - but the lack of competitive games otherwise is a problem. Just look at Germany...

More chance of us not qualify than Wales

I think you’ll definitely qualify. Got some good young players coming through, and they’ll be at a great age then.

I think if three or more fail to qualify, the automatic spaces are given out based on ranking, so you should be okay as long as England & Scotland qualify.

Will definitely go to a game if they use Everton's new stadium. I presume they will be?

  21. I thought since the bore-fest ended on Sunday that I wouldn't have to keep hearing how it was a tactical masterclass from both Pep and Arteta.....but nope. Everyday there's more. It's so weird lol

You're rarely going to get an "exciting match" from Pep. He doesn't like to play that neutrals find enticing.

Almost like a game between the countries two best teams is going to be talked about. Wild.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

The free town there is an experience. Keep your wits about you as the centre is a bit errrr, interesting. The way people have built their homes on that bit of island/river is amazing though. Almost fairy tale.

The meat packing district is very entertaining in the evening. I think it's quite arty during the day too, although never made it myself. War Pigs is fun if you like beer and (I think) BBQ.

The Carlsberg museum and Tivoli gardens at predictable picks, but both are genuinely worth a look. Myself and my brother were also very amused by the design museum dedicating so much space to chairs. That felt very Danish...

Louisiana gallery is a train ride away, but is worth a visit if you like modern art, a beautiful sculpture garden(s) and views over the water to Sweden.

I wish I could remember the name of another area we liked going to which had a bunch of nice pubs and bars along it. Our evenings out were never dull. Getting absolutely destroyed at pool by a Peruvian lady, as she told us all about her recent wedding to her wife, was quite the highlight. I'll see if I can figure that out from a map...
