Do players really care about playing on turf instead of grass. like over half the us venues all use turf.

FIFA requires all venues to switch to grass for FIFA competitions iirc. It was a big contention when they didn't require the stadiums in Canada for the WWC to switch.

Ahh ok that makes sense. Its too bad we don't have hundreds of stadiums with natural grass to choose from already.

I've often wondered how much money moves under the table to keep all the FIFA/CONCACAF tournaments and games in the NFL stadiums and not the much larger college stadiums.

Newbie question here as I really don't have a clue but do college stadiums even have the same infrastructure in place as the NFL ones?

  9. Some college stadiums have better infrastructure lol

The NFL has rebuilt a lot of stadiums in the last 20 or so years to make some extremely state of the art facilities (Dallas, LA, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Detroit, Atlanta immediately come to mind). They look incredible and are world class. But as far as stadium operations, "character," amount of people that can be seated... there's probably 30-40 college stadiums that could handle everything FIFA would need with ease. There's six stadiums that average 100k+ a game, and twelve more that average more than any NFL team.

    And then there's also:

where would i be if i was my brain Prestigious

I think the other issue FIFA has with the college stadiums is the "necessary" infrastructure for the town to hold everything needed to have the games.

I do feel like the atmosphere would be so much better if the games were being played at these venues.

EstupiƱan out for a "long time" according to De Zerbi. Shouldn't joke but I wonder if it's out of embarrassment for his performance v Villa!

This is 100% it. It basically means that Asia is the ONLY option for 2034. Incredibly see through.

I think some the issue with the college stadiums, I am thinking of the Big House, is that the actual width of the fields are smaller than what is needed. I know that has been a big issue with the friendly matches (also the artificial turf). I think even Ford Field runs into that issue though and its an NFL stadium. Another issue is that a lot of the bigger college stadiums end up using bench seating to cram more people into them.

They've stated they will only hear proposals from Asia or Oceania for 2034. So it's Saudi vs Australia.

Hmmm... A nation that regularly kills people for trivial crimes and chops up critical journalists, or one whose biggest export is beer and barbecues. It's a toughie.

I look forward to the final in Jeddah.
