  1. Laporte is a name that keeps getting linked to Spurs. Most recently by Alasdair Gold who is always reliable.

I can't imagine Laporte would want to go to Spurs, right? I know he's kinda fallen out of favor at City. And they're trying to bring in Gvardiol. So I can see him leaving. But why would he go to Spurs? Feel like he'd be happier going to a Spanish team.

But his name still lingering makes me believe there's actually a possibility.

He is not going to play that role, sounds like more of the Gundo role. If Mahrez and Bernado leave, you are going to see Foden move to the right wing. I had thought we would move him down in to midfield this year but seems that might be delayed or he bounces between both roles. I don't think we are going to be able to ride KDB as much as we have in previous seasons and probably will see more rotation there.

All depends on if his knee/injuries have not slowed him down. I think that is why he is not playing for City currently and would be surprised if he ends up at a top team due to that. Still think he has some good years there just wonder how much his injuries have impacted him.

  4. Sounds like they need to buy a new winger as well (if Silva and Mahrez both leave).

Does Kovacic coming in make it more likely that Gundo is leaving?

My guess is Gundo stays, you have a rotation for two spots between four "main players" in Gundo, KDB, Kovacic, and then maybe Foden, Silva, or even McAtee. They will need a wide player and it sounds likes they want more a "winger" type than what we have now. This chart below is helpful but not great for Pep and his usage of players because of guys like Stones. I think we end up with 3 "main" signings.

Love Son . Seriously, though, this is so refreshing in the modern game.

  10. I saw Hojbjerg was man of the match for Denmark yesterday. Such a weird player to try and evaluate.

Everton have been linked to Harrison, Gnonto, Adams and now Summerville from Leeds so far. We'll end up with Bamford.

Love bringing him back, was wondering who would fill Maresca's spot after he went to Leicester.

    hmmm

I'm pretty demoralised by England losing the cricket this evening, and the thought of Everton's desperation as they inevitably sign Patrick Bamford in the last week of the summer transfer window (‘“We need bodies,” said Dyche today') is the cold half-pint respite I needed.

I can see it now — twelve starts in all competitions, one goal; a scuffed penalty away to Huddersfield in the league cup. Oh Everton, what relief your miseries bring a man in his hour of need.

  17. Turns out Spurs U21 won't be relegated. Teams voted for some rule changes that were too long for me to read.

Always was likely to bite us in the arse, but who knew it would happen so soon. Same thing with bringing Moeen out of retirement rather than pick anyone that's been playing long form cricket the last 2 years.

Ronaldo scored on his 200th (world record) cap.

Some shock results in other Euro qualifiers, too: Moldova beat Poland and Luxembourg beat Bosnia in Bosnia.

The Chelsea/Saudi thing feels dodgier than it probably is but boy does it feel dodgy.

Add Newcastle into the equation, too, as PIF are invested in Clearlake Capital. Dodgy as it comes but, from what I've read, it's all fine in the eyes of the Premier League.

The Chelsea thing really just comes down to them having a load of high profile Muslim players that the club wants out. It looks so fucking dodgy but I doubt it actually is.

Now, when Al Ittihad sign Pulisic for £70m I’ll start wondering :chin:
