  1. I’m sure there is an unfavorable history with manager reunions but I think Poch would be a different situation. When the two sides split Poch talked about how he was so burnt out and needed time away. And I think that feeling he had made things harder for the players and you could just see the vibes decline.

But even with that break-up, the two sides have always remained on good terms. Poch has always loved the club. The fans have always loved Poch (outside of some reactionary shouting at the time of his firing). I remember when Mourinho took over he said Poch was always welcome to visit because “he will always be apart of the club”.

It’s been so obvious to me that both sides regret how things ended. It’d be a shame if we didn’t make the reunion happen because Levy is too scared to swallow his ego and admit he made some mistakes. Poch as manager just feels right.

Just glanced at the fantasy week after the international break. So many double game weeks in my squad against each other.

they realized the Bucs won't be making them money with Baker Mayfield at the helm so they're panic selling, I get it

I know Everton play them next

To be fair, you really have to shit the bed to get it wrong at Bayern.

It's going to be absolute carnage and I'm so ready.

Who was it that completely shit the bed, was it Kovac? Then his assistant took over and won the title, just to make things really awkward.

Yeah, it was Kovac and then Flick too over.

Wrap Benoit Blanc in cotton wool, darn it.

Could be a chance for Walters to get some minutes though and prove himself to be the next Hale End graduate. Shame that Brooke Norton-Cuffy is on loan at Cov as he looks special.

Completely shit the bed is not quite right. Kovacs first season was actually successful with winning the double and overcoming a 9 point lead from Dortmund. But the football we played was not that attractive and that got worse in the second season and at some point the results also were not there anymore. And then Flick took over and won the treble.

A really sad end for a genuinely generational talent. He clearly fell out of love with football after 2018, but I’ll always remember him destroying England as a youngster and thinking “Wow, imagine him playing for my club.”

And then he did. And it wasn’t always easy but he did things throughout his career that were just mesmirising. The “bounce” goal. The outside of the boot cross assist against Atleti. The freakish level of assists he got everywhere he went. And then, this goal:

Ozil was so good that Rooney put in a transfer request when he didn’t go to United after that World Cup

I don't think Spurs have the right players for Tuchel's effective yet boring ass system.

Fits the main criteria of being an ex-Chelsea manager though

Tuchel is at least adaptive in his system and not so rigid. I enjoyed his Dortmund team, and he’s at least good at making tactical changes unlike Conte who just keeps doing the same thing over and over. He’s not my first choice, I’m also tired of Chelsea managers, but I could at least be sold on Tuchel.

I get the feeling Tuchel's football would bore Spurs fans to death. Historically they like their team being entertainers.

I really don’t know why they aren’t considering the return of the really iconic Spurs manager, Tim Sherwood.

The new two-part Athletic podcast on the future of football is really good. The second part on club football in particular.

They talk about the new club world cup which sounds… fine? Then about the sporting integrity and moral issues surrounding the multi-club model. They talk about the Man Utd/PSG/Nice thing, but also mention the City group, Red Bull, Brighton/USG, and one that had passed me by which was Palace/Lyon.
