Signing all those players who fit his system to then sack him makes zero sense to me.

Gonna need a source more reliable than Miguel Delaney to get excited over that one. I've heard he chats wham.

Football took the money route in 1992. Quit acting like all of this is new. This was always going to be the outcome.

  6. Feel like Messi to Miami has a better chance of happening than most have been saying.

There’s a difference between taking money legitimately, and things like inventing fake companies to boost sponsorship revenue or making third party payments from your owners to your staff and players ease your wage budget.

One is end-game capitalism in sport, which we all agree is bad, the other is lying and creating an even more unfair sporting landscape than it already is.

There is no way Man City, a team who can’t even fill their 50k stadium, are making more legitimate revenue than United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Bayern or Real Madrid.

If you can’t see that, you’re blinded by bias.

Your bias is evident in bringing up the attendance thing. It's a tired argument.

This isn't 1950 where ticket sales are the only source of revenue.

No but it is reflective of brand power and status. United’s revenue is high because they sell lots of tickets, have huge merch sales, a ton of brand partners all over the world, and more. Go to a random Asian or African country and you still see United everywhere. City are barely seen in comparison. They simply aren’t close in legitimate terms. So they create fake companies. This has been proven by journalists time and again.

City will get there, no doubt. But they aren’t yet.

This isn’t an attack you or City fans, but there are provable facts and people are within their right to be annoyed.

City used to sell out Maine Road from time to time in League 1 back in the late 90s/early 00s. I think the Etihad is a tad too big for them to do that again in the Championship but, that said, a loyal fanbase is still there. I doubt the tag-a-longs will stay around, though, but what do I know?

Probably my last post on this, but it’s interesting because this guy is a Man City fan, lawyer, and former banker. Seems a pretty good place to see what may or may not happen.

Seems to think this not only will take a long time, but could go either way. In another tweet he mentions the PL potentially messing up when they originally made the announcement, which apparently matters.

I truly don’t feel the need of defending the club. That’s what the lawyers are there for. If they do get relegated to I’ll still follow the club and will probably pick a team each UCL campaign to follow.

Same here, became a fan under Sven and when Thomas Cook was still on the kit so I will keep on doing that. Hopefully we get some more innovative kit designs lol.

I actually hope they won’t get relegated. Is the league more boring with them winning so often? Yes. But they’re a part of the league now and it’s up to every other big club to stop them.

Plus if they get relegated it’ll just be Newcastle winning for a few years probably.

I also don’t want them to get a points deduction. I want to compete with them and try to win the league without that.

The best tip I can give a newbie like you is to watch as many games as you can. Don't focus your attention on picking a team just yet, that will come in due course as you get a feel for the sport. I mean, the next Premier League match is on Wednesday night but there's games in other leagues on most days of the week.

I think a better question that could help us that watch the sport a lot more is this:

What streaming services do you have and what cable channels do you have access to?

Also: falling in love with a team that gets relegated will hurt a lot if you live in the US. Lower leagues are nearly impossible to keep up with here.

    Miss you, Swansea.

Yeah the 3-4 game a week on ESPN+ is rough if that happens. Surprised that they don't offer the option to get streams to all the games for an upgrade price, just put them on with no commentary if you need to.
