It seems like ETH wants a striker that will drop back and link up move around with the three behind. Kane has experience with that. That’s how Martial has been playing anyway. Explains the links with Felix too.

 

Outside of winning CL, I just don’t see what he could do at Bayern that’d make him feel anymore accomplished. Like, is it really going to make him look better winning the league after joining a team that wins their league every year anyways?

I’d argue a very significant chance of winning the Bundesliga and a shot at the CL is better than a relatively outside shot at a trophy at all. Players want to win trophies regardless, so I get why players go there.

 

To be fair, maybe he doesn't want to "look better". Maybe he just wants a winners medal for him to look back on when his career has finished. Must be hard for him to be probably England's greatest ever striker, have all these records, but not have actually won anything. Maybe a guaranteed League win appeals to him.

Precisely. I do wonder if Shearer ever has a hint of regret that the move to United broke down. Obviously it helps he did all he did for his boyhood club, but still.
