I skipped over the statement and didn’t realise what had happened.

Just read it and honestly, that seems like a very honest and good statement from Bergalter. He took accountability and sought help, and it’s so low of Reyna’s family to use that.

I don’t really see what more he could have done, and it’s a very good example of someone holding themselves accountable and growing as a person.

 

So fucking gross to weaponize that because your son did not play as much as your family expected.

 

What’s shocking to me is Claudio and Berhalter were apparently good friends. So Reyna’s parents are clearly fine with domestic abuse until you don’t give their child 90 minutes every game.

 

Reyna's mom was the college roommate of Greg's wife too so there is a ton of interconnectivity that just blown up because of this. Also shows this was used as retribution for their son since they would have known about it for a very long time but only now decided to tell the Federation.

Greg and Claudio played together in high school, college, and with the national team.

Sunday we were told Kulusevki would only miss one game. Not even on the bench today. Yay.
