I was trying to describe myself to someone

Not convinced the whole country is united in wanting Liverpool to miss out on the title. There are plenty of people who would much rather not watch the financially doped blue monster win again.

Also, did anyone else see Ward-Prowse break out an ice hockey challenge against Newcastle yesterday? Unbelievably dirty.

was mostly banter, I don't even live in the country I was talking about. I do agree with you in theory but then you meet a liverpool fan and your mindset changes.

Christ we are bad. If we get top 4 it'll be so undeserved.

I have absolutely no idea why we have Solskjaer the permanent job before the season ended.

He's been brilliant, yeah but that was always going to be a mistake. More short sighted nonsense from the club.

Jesus christ De Gea must really have checked out. Been disgraceful recently.

If missing out on top 4 is what’s needed for a scorched earth rebuild, i’m fine with it.

Won't happen. We'll sign three overpriced mugs again this summer and the board will be shocked we're in the same position comes Christmas

the managerial appointments, other then Van Gaal who I quite like for some strange reason, have been really odd since Sir Alec. Giving Ole the job so quickly while he was still sort of in the honeymoon period was really poor from upper management.

To be fair to Ole, I think it’s being understated how injuries just completely decimated our rhythm. Yes he could’ve adapted better, but on the other hand, I think most of the squad have been playing unfit for months.

I think getting Ole in as caretaker was a stroke of magic, it put the board in a no lose position until the end of the season. They somehow managed to lose it. They did not need to give him the permanent job until the end of the season but they saw that our fans were happy and thought it was a good PR opportunity. Give it to Ole after before the Barca games. Brilliant!

Except, most of our players are falling like flies to injury. The rest are flirting with other clubs. Some have been pushed out the door. Some are signing pre contracts with other clubs. Some just are not good enough.

And Ole can't do a thing. He can't keep them from being injured, can't get them to defend, or attack. Can't keep them at the club. More importantly can't keep them happy, because they're all already disillusioned at the state of the club. The board wanted a quick win and they got it. But fuck me it was less than a week of that win.

i mostly agree with all of this, even from an outsider perspective as it’s obviously not the club i support and follow super closely. i would just add that Ole as caretaker was fine but he’s not a manager for the level of United. Like you said, the board had a good situation and managed to cock it up

Yeah if he was still caretaker we could get to the end of the season and say thanks Ole brilliant job for even getting us to challenge for top 4 which is more than most of us expected when he was hired. Now? He's the manager and he'll be held to a higher standard that that. Ed really really needs to go. We can't have people that don't understand football with such control.

I dont like Unai but in general I think he's overachieved result wise (not necessarily performance wise) this year but some of these conservative XI's at home literally drive me insane. what is this lineup? who is supposed to get the ball to Özil and the strikers? if you have to play Elneny-Guendouzi cause of injuries/rotation, why 5 defenders instead of 4?
