  3. Also, the Sissoko-Winks midfield is wonderful. Both played so well last night. I think we realized how important Winks is considering how bad we’ve been without him.

Really curious to see how Pep approaches the next leg. Think he got a lot wrong last night, seems to outthink himself often in this latter UCL ties in recent years.

    I do not exist.

Can't believe he's not won an away leg in a quarter or semi final in the CL for 8 years.

The Messi that shows up today will determine if we do the treble or not.

It’s been like four seasons since we won an away knockout round.

But it’s also been five since we lost a knockout at home.

The apocalyptic injury crisis we had has completely destroyed any and all rhythm we had going for us. Even if we’re pretty close to healthy, it’s just been plugging whatever guys are least injured into whatever positions they can take up. When we were at our high flying and healthy best to start Ole’s reign we might’ve had a chance of knocking Barca out in 2 legs, but you can forget about that now. If your lot can get out of first gear that should be more than enough.

shocking given the squads he's had and how good a manager he is. feel like he often out thinks himself in a lot of these ties, evidence by the often peculiar lineups/substitutions. also feel like he wants to win it at City so badly that his desire/nervousness probably festers down to the players

also clear City need a Fernandinho replacement this summer

  10. JM95

    hmmm

He plays them quite conservatively generally and there's no need to. The disadvantage of playing away is largely psychological and when you're able to control and attack like Pep's teams can, there's no need to change the 'accent' of your game just because you're playing away. On the contrary, in a competition where away goals are so crucial, the last thing an opponent wants to come up against at home is a Pep team that's taking the game to them.

Don't think we have a chance tonight. We've been insipid since the second leg against PSG.

one of those ties where im pretty sure everyone is expecting Barca to run riot, so no pressure. need a fortuitous first goal to lump the pressure on them

ah, okay. I saw some stat on twitter where he's completed 90 minutes once this season, on 10th of August.

This is possibly Fred's best performance for United. Passing has been a bit iffy at times, but he's been really tactically disciplined, stuck to his role really well.

Ok results for United and Ajax imo, if they both manage get an away goal next game they can get through for sure.

Just saw the highlights from the Man U, Barca match. United were so wasteful in the Barca box. When I heard they'd had no shots on target, I assumed Barca had just kept them away from goal.

  25. Dele with a broken hand and unsure if he can play in the second leg.

    Wonderful.
