I've read the Rose article a couple times and I can't help but think this is his agent in his ear. He shares an agent with Walker and he is seeing how much Walker is getting now. I mean, Rose signed his new deal less than a year ago. Played like 10 or so games before getting injured for the season. So he is saying he isn't paid what he is worth but just signed a new deal this past season....and didn't even play for majority of the season. Why did he sign the new deal if he thought he was worth more? He signed it at the peak of his play. Now after months of being injured he's worth more?

 

Tomorrow's rags say Spurs players are backing Rose.

 

Majority of the players that matter have signed new deals less than a year ago. Now they're all of the sudden rallying against the club? I'm not buying it. Especially with how the players have been speaking this summer. All saying positive things, and some actually saying we don't need big signings to compete (because we don't).

 

We didn't make any big signings last year (Sissoko doesn't count) while our rivals spent record money. And we increased our total points and our position on the table. We still have the most complete starting lineup in the league even after everyone else made their big signings this summer. We finished the season so strong and have no need to replace any of the starters. Strengthen the bench and call it a day. These players know that.

Now if they wanna complain about wages, I get it. Other teams are paying more. But these guys just signed new deals. If they had a problem with the offer, don't sign it. That's why I don't buy into the story that the players are all mad at the club.

I don't really have any issues with what Rose said. It's a bummer he went through the Sun though, regardless of his relationship with this journalist.

This could REALLY disrupt their season, and could cause players to leave. It's fine being tight as fuck when you're a mid table team finished 8th-14th every year but Spurs aren't anymore. They have CL football and a lot of money. If they fuck this up, it's their own fault.
