After dramatically underpaying for Ashley Williams last year, I'm alright with this sum.

I tried typing out a line-up here but I had no Rooney, no Bolasie, no Tom Davies, no Funes Mori. They've got a damn good squad IMO.

A real possibility, if Barcelona does indeed chase after Coutinho...

If he's gone, give us the money and let us buy players to replace him/strengthen elsewhere. I understand why the league is upset at losing their third largest star--but from all reports, we didn't ask them to do this. This is them acting on their own--even if twitter is hot take city about us being puppeteers in this today. So not sure what the end game is for La Liga. The buyout clause is legal and they have to accept it.

Getting Ligue 1 involved also potentially blocks Mbappe coming to either of the big La Liga teams, which is a fun backfire on the office.

    Same.

I'm just worried who we can get to replace his production in the midfield. Hopefully Mesa works out and Abraham is a monster.

I was hoping Borja would be an option, but he was shipped off to Malaga for the season. I imagine there will be a purchase after Gylfi's fee is in.

How awkward would it be to be Malaga now. They're owned by Qatar too.

On paper Everton have a good squad. I know these two legs in europa qualifiers aren't the best indication of the upcoming season since they all seem a bit rusty, but damn if they don't look slow as fuck. Little pace and nobody has emerged as a legitimate 15-20 goal scorer yet. Hopefully that's Sandro. Rooney has been meh (which isn't a shock) and our backs look vulnerable against a shit Slovakian side and will likely get shredded against any of the top 6

Can you imagine the pressure he'll feel if they don't win the CL in the next few years?

I was trying to describe myself to someone

I don't really get why La Liga stepped in and tried to block it (which PSG rounded by just paying it straight to Barca). FFP is not theirs to enforce and technically, PSG will be judged over 3 years. If they sell 4 players for £50m a piece now, they've wiped out that cost.

I get why they're pissed off and feel that having a state run club in the sport is BS, but it comes over a bit petty. They weren't worried all those times that Real were pissing money up the wall for fun.
