If Costa goes to China, I could see Morata at Chelsea, and Lukaku to United.

If Madrid were smart, they'd sell Benzema and keep Morata, but they don't seem too keen on that for whatever reason despite Morata's scoring rate by minutes being better than everyone not named Messi.

Morata wants to work with Conte. That'd be one hell of a Chelsea front six.

  3. Remember when it seemed like they were going to be the best thing that could have happened to the club? It's absolutely disgusting. Two years before the takeover, they were two points from a UEFA Cup spot! And now this. It's so sad.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Possibly the best example of the Fit and Proper Persons test failing. They had no idea what they were doing and very little money to back it up by all counts.

Hopefully they'll piss off and the fans can buy the club or something.

Red Bull should buy them, add them to the family. RB Blackburn sounds good.

  6. Let's say you guys finish 6th and lose to Ajax in the Europa finals. Would you consider this season a massive failure? I mean, you bring in one of the best managers in the world, then add guys like Pogba, Ibra, and Mkhitaryan to a team that already has some nice talent on it. I know there have been some injuries, but every team deals with that.

This is why it's weird to me that Mourihno basically gave up on finishing in the top 4. Before this weekend, you guys were in a fine position to surpass Liverpool, especially when you consider how erratic Liverpool has been performing. I understand his logic that he'd rather have a European trophy and CL rather than just 4th and CL, but a team like United is definitely capable of achieving both and should have more confidence in doing so. There's only one more midweek game to worry about. The Europa final is after the season is over. They should be able to handle taking on both competitions at this point. Instead he put out what he considered a B team, and that B team played like they didn't give a shit about the game. I just don't get that mentality this late in the season. He is putting all his eggs in one basket and I kinda hope it blows up in his face.

You're underestimating just how many games we played, and how tired our guys are.

Yes it's a failure, and it was a tactical gamble. If we had have beaten Swansea last week yesterday's match would have been much different. But we didn't. Again we dropped points at home from a winning position.

I think even if we don't win the Europa there are a lot of positives from this season. We're playing far better, more attacking football this year. We just need consistent finishers and we would be far higher up in the table. We're creating chances to kill teams and not taking them. Hell we should have been 1-0 up yesterday except Rooney missed an easy 2 on 1. No doubt about it even taking that into account this season is a failure without champions league to follow. Every season is. I don't blame Mourinho for doing what he did yesterday, I would have done the same in Football Manager, but that's a video game and not real life. We'll see. It could backfire immensely.

^ That too, we've played a hell of a lot of games. Much more than Liverpool and they're struggling to be less shit than us.

  9. And just to be clear, I didn't mean that to be a United bashing post. I'm just thinking of how frustrated I'd be if that were my team haha

Mou's had was forced by the fact that Celta's been resting their starting XI for weeks

They were still shite tbf. Be criminal if we lost the tie now

Also I didn't see it as a United bashing post. It would be very odd from an outsiders perspective sure. I always find it really odd when reams sacrifice the Europa League tbh. A the end of the day it's a trophy to win.

Never actually got to watch. Saw the score line and decided to only really check out Rashford's goal.

I think even if we go out of Europa on Thursday, this season can probably be seen as a pass, if not a total success. Semi-finals of a major competition, one trophy won, playing much better football than last year, Pogba has been looking good and Bailly is an absolute boss. He's phased Rooney out, and we were unbeaten for 20 odd games - not winning all, sure, but he's made us hard to beat.

You've got to remember how much dross/ squad players are in that United team, and the amount of injuries we've had right at the business end of things. Not making excuses in the slightest, but if you'd asked me at the start of the season, I'd probably have taken a bedding in season. No excuses next year mind.

One of the worst teams I've seen us play this season tbh. They can only do better in the return leg which is the worrying part.

Us not nagging another away goal was a bad result, tbh. We've been susceptible to conceding at home from only a chance or two.

Simeone says he's 100% staying for one more season at least. Apparently he wants to lead the team out in the new stadium.

    North East football this season:

    - Sunderland relegated
    - Middlesbrough relegated
    - Hartlepool relegated (out of the football league)
    - Darlington barred from the play offs because of their stadium

Got to say, there's been better seasons...

  25. Well I guess it's official: I'll be picking out an official Premier League team to support for next season.

Blackburn will always be in my heart and as long as they exist, they're my number one. But as an American, it just is totally impossible to see any League One action... so I'll need to keep myself invested with a different team. I can't see them returning to the top flight until there's an ownership change and it could be awhile.
