I was just about to post about that. End of career for him, surely?

He's saying it's put him into early retirement but he's going to appeal. Hope they don't shorten it. Be a fitting end to his career

I'd be surprised if any footballing punishment was handed out. If it's a load of money men in the background fiddling taxes, then it might not even directly involve the clubs anyway.

I don't actually have any particular bad blood about him these days, but it does seem appropriate that he finishes with a long ban...

While I dislike Barton and I'm glad he'll be out of the game for so long, I do think it's bringing up quite a good discussion between all the journalists I follow on twitter with the fact that betting sponsorship is so prevalent throughout football (including Ladbrokes being an official FA sponsor).

Gambling is an addiction and from what I've seen it's something Barton has tried to get help for (I don't know if this was post being investigated or not though). I know they want to send a message about it but the FA's punishments (and own ethics) seem to be all over the place again, stamping on someone's head gets less of a ban. Personally I think as it is an addiction they should have given a 6-9 month ban and be made to go to mandatory therapy\recovery meetings to help kick the habit, with a further ban if he slips.

Edit: I've just read that he bet on matches for teams he played for at the time, I think this proabbaly explains the lengthy ban but I still think the points above are still valid.

So many wasted chances to make the third goal and end the game.
I dont know whats wrong with Lewa. Since his shoulder injury he seems to be a completely different player. I guess he's still not 100 % fit and the injury still hinders him in some ways.
And how Xabi was booked for being fouled in the box I will never understand.

  17. Wow what a win

Thought that was a guaranteed 0-0 draw

Don't worry, I've got a lesson to plan for a Year 8 class tomorrow, but I'll be damned if I'm missing this game.

  20. This is completely random, but Aguero winning the league title for City in 2012 is still one of the craziest moments in sports I've ever witnessed.

Tell ya what, Martial is absolutely destroying City's right back tonight. Skipping past every damn time.

Top 5 ending to a soccer game this decade. Absurd.

Win out and we're top 4. Nice to have it in our hands. Hopefully we'll have Pogba back for Swansea. Being a couple points clear of Pool with same amount of games played would put a lot of pressure on them Monday.
